Nice posts Pimp Hand.

Right when I saw those sheets I noticed those temp changes and thought to myself "What the...."

This is the main problem with posting sheets like this. At least these actually had the temp information. People just look at the numbers and don't care about anything else, however the people in the know see things like this and go "wait a second...."

We are kinda fortunate that the atmospheric conditions were listed on the sheets. Otherwise I wouldn’t have had a solid basis to conduct my argument, other than common sense and experience.

I’ve just seen way too many inflated claimed used by dishonest manufactures to make their products look like the best thing since sliced bread. And I feel it’s the responsibility of the older/experienced guys to call BS when it’s appropriate. For the sake of our communities population that may not know better. That’s not to say I am never wrong. I have called BS on product claims, and though a discussion and investigation I found out I was wrong. At which point I publicly apologized and withdrew my criticisms.

I am actually happy when I’m wrong because it means the manufacture is being honest and forthright, something which that is distinctly lacking in the high performance auto marketplace.

Please don’t misunderstand me there is ALOT of dead blunt honest companies out there. It takes a strong character and a strong sense of honesty to only claim a 10 HP increase wile your competitors are using bogus data to claim 70 HP. And I have nothing but the highest admiration and respect for them.

Pimp,

I want to say that I apologize to you for questioning what you said. When I posted this on our site I never noticed the temp differences. I did not know until one of the posters mentioned it. Having said that, myself (and obvously many others) were not aware of the correction factor. I called the company that did the dynos and they had done 4 dyno runs that day. I was only aware of the 2 that I posted. Dyno Jet told them that the dyno will not work if its cold, which is why they had the space heater. The first 2 runs were not supposed to be used. Those were the 2 that were emailed to me. That was an honest mix up.

having said that, SGS Automotive spoke to me on the phone today and will email me the 2 other dyno sheets. These were runs 3 and 4. They are within 3-5 degrees of each other.

He did tell me that the first one was not valid, so you are apparently correct. I should have called him sooner to clear this up. On the 2nd two comparisons it was more than 100 HP to the wheels gain. I will post these as soon as I get them.

I do want to say that I dont want any false information on my website. I will post the new ones as soon as he emails me them. I take responsibility first for not noticing the temp difference and 2nd for knowing the implication.

Will update shortly and I hope once I do we can all move on.

UPDATE!!

It looks as though Dave/Coolingmist has withdrawn this advertisement from his site!

Now that’s a standup/honest thing to do. Congratulations! I am proud of you for doing that. As I’m sure every one else is as well including Bully Dog since you are no longer slandering their product with corrupt data from your own product test. You have taken a step in the right direction. And I am truly happy to see that. No bull **** no lies I am honestly happy to see that.

P.S. Dave I know you’re a salesman and not a car guy. And I try not to hold that against you but I hope you see that raw data with out knowing how that data was collected is next to useless.

Once again Congratulations

Did you ever see my car? If you know what I drive you would not say that. I am a horrible sales person and I am terrible at marketing. I **WISH** I had the marketing skills that you think I do.

Here are pics I took about 10 minutes ago. Are you HONESTLY going to tell me that a NON CAR GUY would buy this car and drive it as a daily driver/fun car? Give me some credit, please.

Dave I should rephrase you are not a hard core "car" guy. There is a huge difference between driving around a stock Elise and sinking 83K into a car such as mine (not including the cost of the car by its self). Yes 83k is correct and not a mistype it’s fully documented with receipts. And I have an honest 7-10k in parts that I simply don’t have receipts for but I don’t claim that because I have to show people the items I don’t have receipts for. By my definition you are a car “enthusiast” but not a hard core car guy. I’m sorry if you feel insulted by my statement that is not my intent. But I think every one would agree that there are those that just can’t stop them selves. And there are those that are completely happy with nearly stock cars. There is no disrespect from being an enthusiast vs. a hard core guy. It’s just a difference in mentality, nothing more nothing less.

Normally I don’t like getting in to these “my car VS your car” discussions because they invariably end with **** tons of people slapping their E-peen on the table. But because I feel obligated to explain my statement I felt I should provide an example as well. I didn’t show my car to belittle yours and I don’t feel yours belittles mine either.

With all due respect, you dont know me. You have no understanding of what I am about. I started my company because I am a computer and car enthusiast. Its that simple. My Rx-7 had more than 30K worth of parts (dont make me name them) and my lotus is almost out of warranty, once it is I will be putting a turbo system on it. The cost of the car, the parts you put into it does not define you as a car enthusiast. There are those that know the price of everything, but the value of nothing.

I did not post my car to say "im better than you", just to dis-prove your statement of not being a "car guy". While I used to spend every single WED at test and tune at sears point and sacramento raceway on saturday morning, today I am too vested into my company. Today I help my customers happy with our products. I am proud to do that. I have to say I would love to go back to the 1/4 mile track or drive Road Atlanta, but unfortunately I spend 7 days a week working for my company and have little time.

I look forward to the day I have my turbo or supercharger (maybe a forcedfed turbo) on my Elise. Until then I will have to suffer with a stock one.

All I ask is that you dont judge me, because you dont know me.

BTW, I admire your RX-7 and respect your knowlege.

David

That’s very true. However it tends to show the level of commitment people have to their vehicles. Sure there are people that throw tons of money at their car with no idea how ever thing works, but they are far and few between.

You also correct in saying that I don’t know you. That’s right I don’t know you personally. I can only base my judgments of you on our dealings over this forum and various other forums. And in my dealings with you over the web you have repeatedly demonstrated a lack of knowledge. This thread is a prime example: Yes I must admit you’re over sight of the temp variations in the dyno charts could have been a simple mistake. If I am to be honest I must admit that is a possibility. No one other than you will ever really know for sure.

But the fact that you still touted those dyno charts as being accurate even after being confronted with the information as to why they were not shows a lack on knowledge on this matter. Or you are/were not willing to learn/understand why things are not in fact how they were portrayed. I’m sorry but that’s the truth.

Now in an effort to be fair this is a little known subject and I wouldn’t expect most people to understand the implications. Now having said that this isn’t an isolated incident, you have on several occasions demonstrated a lack of knowledge of many subjects ranging from basic issues to complex ones. Now over the past few years of my dealings with you I feel confident I have gotten a good understanding of your technical abilities and competency. Remember some thing: this is not the first time you and I have butted heads over something. Our history goes back a few years.

If you don’t like being judged poorly, I’m sorry about that. But I don’t make your posts; I don’t force you to type the things you have typed.

In light of that I stand by my assessment. You could be in fact a very bight person that is on the ball and knows your stuff. But I haven’t seen that.

On that note: Since this topic is going OT, I’m going to end it right here before things descend into a big pissing match, which would be counter productive and accomplish nothing other than waist bandwidth and storage space.

I am happy you withdrew your advertisement; I look forward when you get comparable results back from the subsequent testing. Good luck I hope your product performs well.
