150 for the hs5 sounds a little cheap. Was it your friend? $1000 sounds like Hollywood prices. I am glad i'm electronically and pretty mechanically inclined. I just wouldn't feel happy paying to install something that time, patience and a little sweat could do.

Around $750-$800 is what we charge for the 5. It's alot of time to install.

$150 is not realistic.

$1000 if you are doing alot of failsafes and such would be ok.

the Aquamist install is not that bad... it should do with teh MACvalve and DDS for fail safes... besides there are a bunch of howtos here, and the diagrams Richard from Aquamist posted are really helpfull and make the install alot easier....

That's why I'm installing it myself, I couldn't shell out 700-1000 for someone to do it when I have all the tools to work with and EVOM to help me out!

Just take a deep breath and read... You'll do fine.

If you have no clue what you're doing or how to solder don't attempt it. As easy as it is once you know something, practicing on your DD is not a good idea. Also, you don't want to have a failsafe wired incorrectly and have something catastrophic happen then blame "the meth" ...do it right the first time. As they say, you gotta pay to play. Not me.

150 is just what the shop quoted me. Its the only shop that really knows how to work on Evo's and they have 3-5 evos in the shop at all times. Regardless don't spend 1000 on it.

you do not solder anything on the DDS... on teh HFS1 all you need to solder is 2 wires that go to the ECU, i think its the same on the HFS5...

We charge 4-6 hours at $85 an hour for EVOM customers. It can take up to 8 hours if your adding a bunch of stuff. Good luck
