Toulene and you!
Are you talking about injecting toulene with an injection kit? or adding ti right to the gas? If your talking about adding it to the gas tank this you prob get better results posting in the Alternative Fuel section
i have. i have tried using 1 gallon with 10 gallons of 91oct. the best performance i gained was with 1/2 gallon with 10 gallons 91oct fuel. you will LOSE performance if you use too much octane and dont up the boost or tune for it. i added it for knock prevention. i noticed it up top in the rpm range..it ran smoother and pulled smoother as well. im running 21psi on FP white rabbit/6.5TME hybrid.

In very high concentrations yes it does eat rubber components.
For 3 years I used a mix of 6l Toluene and 6l Xylene to a tankful of gas. in my WRX. No issues with rubber lines etc.
When I first got my Evo, I also used the same mix and my wife drove the WRX with the same mix.
Recently I have changed both cars over to a E50 mix,. The ethanol here in SA is not available at the petrol stations, so we buy it from chemical companies.
Using ethanol and with a retune, I have been able to gain 30wkw with the WRX and close to 50 wkw, largely from upping the boost and running more timing, which wasn't possible with the old tol/xyl mix.
Bottom line is, ethanol is cheaper, you can get more power from using it, less of a ball ache to mix.
Ethanol ftw.
to avoid the damage of rubber components when toluene is use there is an amount
of ATF fluid to mix with the toluene i thinks its about 3oz. per gallon of toluene that work
like a conditioned to soft the effect of the use of the toluene.

pre-meth I used to run a gallon of toluene with a fillup whenever in Montana (91 teh suck gas ftl). I never had a problem with this combination, but never tuned for it specifically since this was a temporary solution.
I can't remember the exact figures, but I want to say I calculated to be running in the 95 - 97 octane range.

Yes, ethanol requires 30% more fuel to burn, but it is almost a wash as it is in most places barely over 2.00 a gallon (used to be under). We have it at the pumps here in PA, and it is amazing stuff. They adjust the mix for winter/summer so you don't have to worry about cold starts, it is much easier to just go fill up than worry about mixing toluene and/or other octane additives. Its knock prevention / octane characteristics are amazing. They have 110 octane race fuel down the street from my house at the pump and I used that for a little before making the switch to E-85. My race gas tune might have been crap, but I think the E-85 yielded more power, and lets face it, the 7.00 a gallon for the 110 at the pump was terrible to pay every time I wanted to go to the track or auto-x.
Cliffs notes: E-85 FTW!

^thanks for the cliff notes, there was no way I was going to read those 4 lines.
Sounds like you guys in PA have it setup nice! 110 at the pump and ethanol readily available! I'm lucky to get 92 that runs like someone pissed in it.

We don't have E85 here and even though it is awesome I would not want to use it. I like leaded race fuels they are what I am used to and I don't have to change my car around for them.
I am just curious if anyone else makes there own race gas and if so whats your mix and how well does it work?
