I've been using denatured alcohol in my tank. Ive read a few things that it is OK to use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) but due to it not being ethanol based, there will be a slight loss of power.

I saw today at a walgreens they had Ethanol based rubbing alcohol on the shelves, but I didnt want to buy it because there were about 2 or 3 other ingredients on the bottle besides the alcohol and water that I wasnt sure about if it would have any adverse affects somehow.

Anyone have any input? I'm considering going to rubbing alcohol because I could fill my tank for $4 versus $16 for dernatured alcohol at home depot and I would go back to denatured in the spring and summer when I can work more hours again, school gets in the way haha.

 

I'm not sure the answer to your questions....but I know that isopropyl alcohol can be bought at Dollar Genera for $1. Great deal!!
