water injection as a base fuel

you cant run your normal car on just water. we know that. but if you added a little amount of fuel from the current point which is the water by itself so that there is something to get the water to a vapor so that its hot enough to actually use steam to push the piston down, could that actually work if you used the right amounts? Im guessing a very small amount of water.

Yes you can as a 2nd fuel supply in very small amounts. There is a guy on here named Evan Smith goes by the screen name esevo. He is just about the only person I can think of that sprayed just water.

There are some threads on here in which he posted about it. I believe that he was doing direct port with very small jets. Something like a .2 or .4 with pre-jet filters to make sure none of the jets clogged.

You have to be extremely careful though. As you know water in non-compressible. If you get to much something has to give.

Also known as the steam engine effect, except the expansion chamber is in the same place as the burner.
