Need advice with DI system please
Hello to all, first of all sorry for my bad English ... I need advice for setting up direct port injection...
I want to buy aquamist HSF4 system for use with my EVO 8 MR RS. But don't know how to complete the system for my needs. There is so many accessories ...
I think I should buy following items.
1. Hfs4 v3 complete system.
2. 6 way hex manifold (4for DI, 2for pre TB jets)
3. 4x0.3 filtered or checkvalve jets for DI + 4x inline 30um filters.
4. 0.9 and 0.8 checkvalve jets for 8" , 16" away from tb.
That's all ? Or I missed smth?
Any help are welcome.
My car is
'05 Evo 8 MR RS 100.000+mi. Running at 1.5 bar. ~380hp crank.
Stock long block / stock titanium turbo TD05HRA 9.8T.
Mods are full bolt ons - Equal Lenght Exhaust manifold + map o2 dump + greddy downpipe + 3" test pipe + Apexi N1 catback. Short route ets UICP+Ets Licp v2 + Greddy R SPL intecooler. Bosch Motorsport EV14 injectors 980cc + walbro 400lph + Aeromotive FpR.
P.s. We have not Methanol available here, so I will use Ethanol/distilled water 50/50 mix.

I think it will be hard for anyone to tell you exactly because you are asking about specific components and not so many people are familiar with all the aquamist components. It seems like you have it covered though.
I think you might get better results injecting straight ethanol.

I have run alcohol injection for longer than most people have owned their Evo's. With that, I have had the opportunity to use and tune many different systems and they all have a different approach to a common goal.
Since I would rather program a unit with a laptop, if it has knobs and buttons I steer clear of it as if it gets bumped--- then your whole tune is incorrect. I had this happen to me at the end if of a dyno session when I ran an Alky Control brand system... hit the knob by accident and had to guess where it was and spend more money to make sure it was back to its correct setting. Lesson learned.
As far as a failsafe, if something is going wrong, something is going to go wrong in a hurry. Your best protection is a wideband A/F controller and if you are still on the stock ECU, using Tephramod V7 and integrating the wideband into the mix to make the boost drop and light up the check engine light is a good way to do it. Aftermarket ECU's may or may not have the capability. For myself, I know my system and I use a Zeitronix wideband with the display. I also datalog a lot and often just to make sure all is OK.
So I haven't mentioned what system I run, it is a bit obscure but I have had it for a number of years. It is called Hyperdrive Digital Alcohol--- laptop programmed, built in MAP sensor, and it simply works. I have a spare system from another Evo that I had and returned to stock before I sold it, so if you are interested... let me know.
