Trying to move to mesa

Well I think the time has come to move the hell out of WI. Why you ask. It is boring, nothing to do. I have family in AZ but the only one I talk to is my sister. Just to get a few different opinions on different people, what type of jobs are there and what is there a demand for? I'm trying to plan on moving by the end of summer july/aug time. Any help would be great.

BTW- whats the local newspaper down there?

If you're moving to Arizona, you won't find much to do here, but at least you can find a decent job and enjoy a good standard of living. Arizona's labor market is pretty diversified with jobs available in government (state, local, and federal), tourism, telecommunications/utilities, and semiconductor (we have an Intel campus in Chandler). There are also a plethora of retail and restaurant jobs in the area. Depending on what you are looking for and what matches your skills you should be able to find a job with decent pay.

There are two major newspapers in the state, the Arizona Republic and the Tribune. I am not overly familiar with the Tribune, but what I have read it tends to be a little on the conservative side. The Arizona Republic, on the other hand, is trying to become more moderate, but it has simply jumped from being too conservative to being softly liberal. There is one other newspaper, New Times, which is free. It is decisively liberal and it is the "bottom feeder" of the newspapers in that it reports on stories that you would never see in the major papers.

hehe, if i moved there I would be on the TV show "Cheating Vegas" and you will always find me at the Bunny ranch, lol. Plus lil' evil evo already lives there, that town isn't big enough for the both of us WI people. Plus if I moved to vegas housing would be a little harder for me to find, since in mesa i have family, well sort of.

Anyone in the mesa, PHX area knows of some type of manufacturing job opening let me know.

I grew up in mesa and loved it. Lived there for over 10 years. You have to love the heat though.

I am what you call anti-snow. I hate the cold, it could be 75 outside and I'll still have a sweatshirt on.

Thumbs down

the advantages of moving to AZ:
decent looking chicks who have money
decent looking chicks friends who have money
lots of golf (if you play that)
lots of mountain parks & lakes within an hour of phx in any direction
motorcycle riding year round
can own a house on a hill without the house sliding down
Ahwatukee foothills would be where you want to live
best state to live in if you listen to metal, rock, or punk rock music
best state to live in if you like trucks & domestics
no permit required to own a gun (unless for concealment)

THE DISADVANTAGES OF MOVING TO AZ:
Chicks have money but no A$$ & are wannabe Cali girls
91 octane is the highest pump gas you can get (except for a few high priced locations of 101octane)
State is run by a strong religious organization that is anti anyone who is non-white (Note: they all live in either Mesa or northern AZ)
All the houses look alike & are made out of wood/stucco instead of brick/concrete & they are 3 ft apart
Homeowners associations that act like ****'s (no pit bulls, guns, cars parked on streets, etc...)
State was built by hispanics for whites
AZ leads the country in red light accident fatalities
Night clubs require guys to "dress up", close at an early 2am, & they all seem to play the exact same music
Strip clubs don't allow you to touch the girls & the nude bars now require the girls to be clothed after 1am
the temperature averages over 100 degress between May & October
