Tire installers in Phoenix Metro

Hi,

Does anyone know a tire installer in Phoenix metro that has the equipment to mount the Advans and will mount tires with less than 2/32 thread left?

My tires are almost bald at the very edges due to AX/track driving and I am trying to have them flipped from side-to-side to avoid cording at the edges. However none of the big or medium size installers will touch them as just at the very edge they are almost bald, and apparently there is a liability issue. Everywhere else there is at least 5/32 of thread left.

The only small shop I found that accepted to do it, took the wheels off after making me wait two hours past my appointment time only to come back and say he can't take the tires off the wheels. Luckily he did not do any damage while trying...

Thanks for all the help in advance

a mexican place on apache between McClintock and the 101 on the south side of the street will do anything when offered money. They're usually pretty quick too.

But 2/32 thread left..damn.. better replace those tires. I know a guy who work at discount tire and should be able to get you the deal for 4 Nitto Extreme 555 235/45/17 installed at $450 They're pretty decent tires, can't compare to stock advans but works for me.

Thank you for the info, I will try to find the place.

I would replace them except the tires have less than 4k on them and could possibly do another 4k easily if I can flip them. Also in almost all cases replacing will mean downgrading and I want to enjoy the Advans some more...

actually you can get tires that are as sticky or even MORE sticky than stock. stock TW (treadwear) is 160. look these up my friend: Michelin pilot sport cup (80TW), Bridgestone potenza re050 (140 TW), Nitto NT-01 (100TW), Yokohama Advan A032R, & A048 (both have 60 TW). all tires can be purchased thru discount tire www.tires.com which is based out of scottsdale, AZ. good luck...
