Yeah I noticed that too. Maybe Rich doesn't have to worry about spelling 'cause he is such a baller.

yeah what he said. A/F looks like booboo. this is an example of why u don't go to a Subaru tuner to get an EVO done...

I think people mistake a person that can get a desired result out of a car for a tuner. A tuner can tune anything, not just one kind of motor. A tuner takes the data at hand and finds where the motor is happy, and puts it there. It might take a tuner longer to do this to a motor he is unfamiliar with because he doesn't have an idea of where it may want to be, but a real tuner will get it there.

Running and evo at that afr is ridiculous, infact running a subaru at that afr is ridiculous..

Can someone fill me in on whats wrong with the A/F ratio? Is it because its not smooth or still a little to rich?

The car does not show me any problems at the track (I.E.) ET/MPH

look at how FLAT the stock A/F was how it went from 14 to 10 & STAYED there???
your "tuner" should have done the same thing after the flash except that it should have been 11.5:1 for your pump gas tune. not only would be most likely be making over 300whp, BUT you also be going faster in the 1/4 so that way you would have a FASTER time to CARE ABOUT.

then imagine for a second,,,, how your car would respond to a race gas tune of 101octane unleaded or higher where you can throw in 20 degrees of timing...

Not entirely true, but you make some good points and i agree with most of it..

Some tuners like to dump a little fuel up top to keep egt's incheck.. But i do agree it way to rich, and should flatten out for longer. If he leaned it out he may not make huge power gains, but it would be a definite improvement.

I also agree evo's really start to get fun on some good gas. I gotta stop being so lazy and install a WI/Ai kit.

Your A/F is fine, just looks a little unstable creeping down to rich. Being richer on the top end is safe, but if the transistion to rich is smoother, it would have made more power. And I know exactly what is going with the High Octane Fuel Map in your ECU by looking at the A/F...that's why I said Hmmmm...

But it doesn't matter, your car is fast with no detonation problems, and that's all you need to worry about.

A/f

I was under the impression that the A/F meeter they use does not read under 10.1 thats why it was flat at that point. I could be wrong but when we did dyno the car it fell of the chart at that point.

Boosten, your car is strong for your mods

There is nothing wrong with your a/f. remember we use this 91 octane **** water here. it may look unstable to the untrained eye but this dyno has such a fast sample rate (over 500 times per second) not an average like most dynos.

Yes you tune Subarus a little differently but Rich has experience and very successful tuning both.

Hey guys,

1- People don’t realize that dyno dynamic machines max out at 10.0:1… they do not graph any lower unless calibrated to do so…

2- afr is a little rich above ~5.5K, but it depends on what timing is being run…

Also, it was well said by Joebud, your car run's strong and the little bumps in the A/F ratio is only due to the scaling of the graph. If ANY tuners out there could show me a absolutly perfect curve of A/F ratio, there has to be something wrong about the readings...

Keep enjoying your car and try using all that power to the ground !
