It sucks that some people do a whole lot of talking, and produce no results- I'm glad to see that there are people who actually have fast/powerful evo's that aren't even mentioning their cars much. Reid- I look forward to seeing your car and it's progress this year. From what I hear- you've put a lot of owrk, time, and money into that thing.
It's never ending bro, but I think there might actually be a light at the end of the modding tunnel. Part of my problem is that I've changed my mind on what I want to build the car for and how I want to get there so many times that it just keeps taking longer and longer. I have finally comitted myself to probably just drag racing so that really helped give me direction and I think that I will have something special here in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not willing to completely gut my car and lose my ac so I will never get to the AMS or Buschur status in et, but I should be pretty close in trap speed and on the Dyno. As for mods, I'm gonna keep it a secret until I have a dyno sheet or a time slip to prove it.

I hear ya pal...I am stoked to see your finished project and when you do finally get it done you will have one bad azz evo. At first when I was building mine I was all worried about spool up and I think now that I finally have the 2.4, running a 37r will be a perfect match for the motor... I am excited to get to the track together and post some sweet times...

Hey Karma, I'm new here I got a 9 (then ended up leaving the country for a month in Japan and Thailand). I'm lookin' for a place to take it this weekend. It sounds like Firebird and Speedworld are the top spots. Maybe I'll see you there.

Mynes will always be involved with everything that is done to my car and Jay is the only person that I will let tune it, but I'm getting some crazy custom fabrication done right now at Arizona Forced Induction. They are working in conjunction with Mynes to help finish the beast.....

wow, sounds pretty crazy- I can only wonder what you're up to.

If you don't mind me asking- why did you decide not to just go with a standard and proven kit like any of the AMS kits that have proven well into the 9's? Seems like it would be a lot less stressful, expensive, and time savvy.

Not to mention less original or unique.

I am the kind of guy that will always try to find my own way to accomplish something. I like to blaze new paths and I want something unlike anything anyone else has. I would have probably spent close to the same amount of money that I already have and I would just have a car like the Black AMS Evo in Florida. If I am going to spend that much money, I want a car that is one of a kind and I think that I will have achieved my goal for the most part when the car is finished. Also, if I bought an AMS kit then it would just be another fast AMS car, now it will be a fast Mynes and AFI car that should be able to rival some of the fastest AMS cars and I think that's a lot cooler in my opinion.

Understood... I wish you the best of luck. I've never heard of Arizona Forced Induction. What kind of cars do they generally work on? Any idea when you'll be able to get some runs in?

They are the guys from Phoenix Turbo and Peak Boost. I think that they usually do more Honda stuff, but their work is amazing and they really love working on Evos. Once the car is up and running I'll still have to get the cage put in so I don't know when that's gonna happen but I may run once and get kicked off just to see what it can do. I'm really trying to get the car ready for this fall when it starts to cool off.

Reid,

I saw your car at mynes when I was attempting to get tuned... it was a sick setup and the car looked awesome. I wish you the best of luck and hope you reach your goal.

Thanks man. I'm just excited that there are finally gonna be some left coast Evos that can put down some big numbers and some low times.

You probably saw my car several weeks ago before I changed gears completely. I have decided to go with a different set up and a much bigger turbo so my old setup will be for sale. I'm a little disappointed because I really wanted to see what that ihi turbo could do with the air to water intercooler, but I guess I'll just have to see it on someone elses car. I'm hoping to get a chance to take some pictures this week and post it up fs on here and at azawd.
