hey rodger, i read your synopsis on auto detailing.... when you get to the "polish" part, can you do this by hand or do you need a buffer?

YOU CAN DO ANYONE OF THESE STEPS BY HAND. However, its just much easier with a buffer. Also when you do these with a buffer please be sure to use a clean buff pad each step for optimal results. Also dont get the heavy duty mumbo jumbo buffer just get a small light one cause its much easier to handle and get around tite spots. I cant begin to tell you how much better that is. From all my time of dealing with detailing and cleaning cars there is so much to learn. Its not just a bucket of soap and water like so many people think. A good detailer will actually use certain compounds and soaps with certain makes of vehicles. Because each manufacturers paint uses different ingredients that calls for certain compounds and soaps to be conducive to those types of paint. Most the stuff we buy from general stores are infact "general." I actually use the stuff cause its cheap and it does give decent results but to get optimal results detailers go out and buy each car manufacturers detail products and use them accordingly.

ok i found 2 enkeis, now does anyone have tires? as long as they are 235/45/17r and with some thread il buy it off you, i only need two.

I've got 5 Dunlop SP Sports with a good amount of tread left on them. They're 245/45/17r though. Wouldn't make alot of difference with size, I would just put the wider ones on the rear if you just want two of them. $45 a tire, you can pick the best ones if you want.

 

would it make a big different in handling by doing this?

 

If you put different size tires front and rear, you need to be concerned about the health of your center differential. I wouldn't even drive 10 miles with that setup myself...

 

Really? I wouldn't think that having a slightly wider tire on the rear would make a difference. I could see how a larger diameter would effect the diff. What about when driving with a spare tire on?
