Yeah.. I know.. and how you can get arrested for driving drunk. Such ****'s.

Street racing is dangerous. Racing at 140mph on a freeway? They'd doing that person a favor by impounding the car. This story seems a bit skewed and embellished to me too.

after reviewing the California ARB Executive Order list, here are the cars that CANNOT be modified:

1)ANY import that is non V8
2)ANY import that is newer than 1976 (except Datsun)
3)ANY import that is not diesel
4)ANY car that does not fit the above criteria , BUT is not a "domestic" (example DSM)
5)ANY OBD-II equipped car with a catalytic converter
6)ANY car that fits the "profile" of MALE drivers aged 16-35-IN OTHER WORDS ANY CAR WITH A SPOILER, ALLOY WHEELS, WINDOW TINT, GRAPHICS, NON-FACTORY OR BRIGHT COLORED PAINT, & SHINY EXHAUST TIPS!!!!!!!

here are the cars CAN be modified:

1)ANY import that has a V8 or larger tengine
2)ANY import that is diesel
3)ANY import that is older than 1976, OR ANY domestic car that is older than 1974
4)ANY OBD-I equipped car
5)ANY factory turbo/supercharged V8 or larger car
6)AFTERMARKET turbos/superchargers/nitrous are allowed on ANY NA powered V8 or larger domestic regardless of year or OBD status
7)exhaust systems allowed if they read LOWER than 95db @ 3k rpm & 89db @ idle

my conclusion: all CALI residents who wish 2 drive fast & mod their cars will have to buy the following cars: BMW M5, Benz E55, S55/65, Audi RS4/S8, Rolls Royce Phantom, any 4 door Bentley, 2008 Lexus LS 600H, or any forced induction v8 or larger SUV.

in english this means that sports cars in CA are being treated like guns there. it is becoming very difficult to own a gun in CA, sports cars will soon follow...

Wow - I'm sure glad I got out of that Hippy state. That's absolutely unbelievable... wait, we're talking about California. Of course it's believable.

It really is not like that here in Phoenix. There might be some fast cars now and then but I have never seen anyone going that fast here. We have Criminal Speeding and extreme DWI, I wouldn't say that we have some major advantage over other states. Especially with that crazy *** sheriff Joe Arpaio. and don't tell anyone else to move here.

Hawaii, you have to pay 15 bucks to get your vehicle inspected if you have modifications to your car. its call RECON (reconstruction permit). Then once they see everything is within specs then they give you sticker so you can go get a regular safety check for 20 bucks.

i failed my first recon, because my fog lights were less than 12" inches off the ground. they were stock fog lights and i had kyb agxs/eibach sportline 2" setup.

if you get pulled over with mods and without a recon you get some fines.

nothing as crazy as cali though
I had to pay alot of tickets from the recon law in Hawaii. Eventually I just started souping up mopeds, so I could dig when they wanted to pull me over! 87 Honda Elight would go 75,80 MPH.

That is nuts to go that fast on the street!! That is why every state has road courses/drag strips. get the $30-200 out of your pocket, and race there. save the tears, and rip the gears!!!

Maybe you should move to Indiana! I am left alone by the local PD, and even run an open side-pipe! (Electric motor on the fritz for my Dump valve). No ricer comments, I have heard them all!

Wow that sucks! They literally crushed it huh? I bet Arnold came down there and drove over the front end a bunch of times with his H1 just to rub it in.

My friend just got caught street racing 3 days ago and they didn't crush his car. Could have went to jail or get his car impounded but the cop was cool. Loser gets caught by the cop, so did the evo lose to the porshe?

Street racing is bad and dangerous but fun....
