uhmmm interesting.. OJ , I was at the track watching you and not racing when you burned your clucth, in fact I even have pics of you, remember?. What I am shocked is to hear you are saying that Mynes Performance did your Exedy Twin clutch.

I recall vividly when Mynes specifically told me that they would not install clutchs other than the ones that they recommend/sell. The reason behind that is because they will fully cover their products in case of failure but they would not fall liable for other products they did not carry.

I had my clutch replaced a few months ago by an Evo member but back then Mynes was the trusty place I was recommended by many Evo friends from Phoenix.

I am not complaining, I am just saying a few months ago I was refused to get my clutch install (the same you installed). I can only assume and guess that they are more flexible now and that they changed their policy.

I heard nothing but good words from my fellow AZ Evo owners about Mynes and that is why I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I am sure it got to be that they recently changed their policy.

I would definately would appreciate a friendly explanation from Mynes.

Thanks!

Just my .2c

Carlos

Hi Carlos, Happy New Year!!!

We have recently revised our policy on installs - we can now install your parts with the proper disclosure and disclaimers... After discussing the situation with our insurance guy, he finally gave us a work-around.

cheers.

Mike,

Happy new year to you and your team as well. Thanks for responding me in a timely and friendly manner..

That is excatly what I had in mind, you guys changed the policy recently and I wasn't aware(it happend after the fact, after my request). If you read my previous comments you will see that I actually planned on getting my clutch replace by you guys. That shows you that I trusted you guys based on the many many Evo friends that gave me their satisfactory feedback..

Anyway, thanks again for the clarifications, there should be absolutely no hard feelings on either part/party. I will still recommend your store for clutch replacing.

Thanks!

Carlos

Carlos, thanks for the kind words... i'm sure we'll meet each other eventually in 2007

BTW, we started the new year with a BANG!!! Took the Shop 9 out to Speedworld and got kick off the track ... new best time on the GT35R on the 2.4L Mynes-built Block = 11.34 @ 128MPH

WOW!! that is kicking a$$. I have the million dollar question for you though: is the Evo 9 with the GT35and the 2.4 a white evo 9 MR?

I know you guys were building my friends Mike White Evo 9 MR( AZ EVO IX MR). Anyway, yes, we have to met up somethime in the near future. I am aware we were very close in the past, I know you were present when I was racing and in some of the car shows held at PIR(Phoenix).

Keep up the good work guys!

Carlos

Yep, you are correct. The Shop 9 is the White MR... it's the same one that ran 11.99 at 114mph some 7 months ago at Firebird (stock turbo & stock block). It now has a bigger block and a bigger turbo This car is primarily for road race so we didn't really launch it hard (plus it spins too much out of 1st and 2nd)... we were more interested in knowing the MPH so we can get a reference point for the record. The timeslip should be posted later this week.

AZ EVO IX MR is getting the same block but with a different turbo; by the time we're done with his, it should be in the 10's easily

Our shop 8 has the same 2.4 block but with a HKS turbo. Manifold is being made right now and should be done shortly (fingers crossed). BTW, the shop 8 is also white

Wow, this is freaking twisted and wicked.

Let me explain:

Bothof you are Mikes(you and AZ EVO IX MR Mike).
Both of you have a Evo 9 MR.
Both of you have a 2.4l block and a GT35r.
Both of you have the engines fully built at Mynes Performance
Both of you ran also 11.9@114 at Firebird (the other Mike also ran a 11.7@113 in Speedworld)

Ok, I think I finally got it, you are two different Mikes with two different wicked fast Evo 9s The other Mike use to have a Black Evo 8 which I coincided with him multiple times in 05 at Firebird raceway.
I also compited with him 4 months ago on the AWD street legal class.

I am going to Phoenix probably this Friday to run my Evo 8 with the new cams. I might see you there.

Carlos
