SOCAL EVO VIII roll call
I'm down for anything! Hey Rob are you coming with Josh, Noel and I to SD with the SCLC this weekend? Anyone else? I'd maybe like the idea of a nice little canyon run, or maybe another photo stop like last time, but in a better setting this time (not that I disliked the last one, but maybe the beach, mountains etc...). Just a couple ideas, feel free to shoot 'em down. BTW props to Rob for starting a site for us...you kick ***!
damn, wish i could have been there... but im about 6500 miles away or more in yokosuka japan, although, i am seeing a nice variety of cars out here, i just want to get back home so i can drive mine!
Hey, here's a cruise suggestion: Take Jamboree back up to Santiago Canyon, and then take the back way to Rancho Santa Margarita. The canyon is beautiful, the turns are tight, and traffic is usually pretty light. It ought to make for a drive around 45 - 60 minutes which is about right for a cruise IMO. If there's any interest, I can post a proposed route later.

For those not familiar with the area, Jamboree is the exit off of the I-5 to reach the Tustin In N Out. From the In N Out, it continues North for a few more miles until you hit Santiago Canyon/Chapman. If we head East on Santiago Canyon/Chapman, you drive through a nice canyon in the back hills of OC. About 2/3 of the way through, there is an intersecting road (forgot the name), that will take you all the way out to Rancho Santa Margarita via some really nice twisty windy roads. It was one of the first twisties I hit with the Evo during break-in so it has some sentimental value
.
Rancho Santa Margarita is nestled in the South-Eastern part of Orange County at the base of the foothills. Once there, we can meet up at any one of the shopping centers, shoot the $hit for a bit, and then take off. It's an easy drive back to the I-5, or a quick hop on the tollroad to get out. If this sounds appealing, I can drive the route, record mileages, and then post for everyone's edification.
If Rob gets really bored, maybe he can make a flyer for SoCalEvo and put the directions on there. Assuming anyone's interested of course

SO you guys want to meet at in-n-out then? We can park in the old IKEA parking lot without bothering anyone. WHat time do you want to meet? Noon? I'm going to make up a small flyer thing as soon as we get everything set.
