I'm arriving, later than I thought, to the wonderful world of Evo ownership (from Subaruland) through the courtesy of our friends at South Coast. I'll be driving back to NY on a break-in trip, not ideal maybe but I read one two many horror stoies about transporting cars cross-country.

So, can anyone suggest a leisurely drive west out of Costa Mesa? I was thinking about heading toward Palm Springs, picking up Route 62 (decent road?) to 95 and then joining 40. I really want to vary speeds, at least for the first 100 miles or so.
