Talking SCLC MEET 28th JUNE

Thanks to all for coming it was a great turnout. As many on the boards know there was a demo of RRM's ecu upgrades at the meet. Things went well and very positive feedback came from everyone who drove the car. All that were there please post your feeling on the meet. This is especially for all the lucky drivers of the NA ecu moded car. 03LANCER, thanks for the support RRM appriciates it... it was great seeing all the smilling faces after the test drive. Now come on people post for RRM and SCLC as this was on of the best meets i've ever been to. There were lots of people and great enthusiasm. Post away...

I was very impressed with the performance of the NA ecu. When I autocross, I fear hairpin turns because I know my Lancer bogs under 3000 rpm, but Ben's Lancer with the RRM ecu has plenty of pull from as low as 2000 rpm! Ben then informed me that you don't need to shift his car at 5000, because the power stays up there much longer. So I tried it, and could not feel much of a power loss even at 6000! This product gives such a substantial gain, it now takes precidence over all other mods I was going to do this year.

sounds interesting is it a complete ECU replacement? piggy back or is it a mod they do to the stock ECU?

i liked the ECU b/c of the feel when it drifted. i was playing w/ it a lil and it made the car most definitely fun to drive.

The ecu is a reflash mod. Basically You buy it w/core charge. RRM sends you new ecu... you install and send your old to them. This is a common thing just like jet chiping only here there is no new chip they just delete the info off the ecu then reinstall new info. Makes the car operate more efficiently and returns power where the factory programmed it out.

Don't even compare this to JET chipping. JET is a complete rip off. I have a Toyota Supra and on the i-Supra web site several people have sent their ECU's in to JET. All they do is open the ECU, put a sticker on the existing chip, seal the ECU with another sticker, and send it back. The 86.5-92 Supra's don't have a 'flashable' ECU, but JET claims they upgrade it, but the returned ECU doesn't have a new chip soldered in, just a sticker on the stock chip.

Now that my rant is over with, I will definitely be saving up for this mod. Any idea when it will be up on the web site?

I believe in total there were 5. Many just took what the others were saying. Those 5 wanted to see for themselves. It would be nice for them all to post but maybe they are just not on the site much. Give them some time i'm sure they will.

Livelyjay... i was just using jet as an example i don't like them as most don't and i've seen bad things from them. Their program is the same though. Send in ecu and get one back that is better. RRM's is better and it is known now thanks to demo car.

As for it on the site... ROCK what are you lagging for?? Also, does it have to be on site to call and buy it. ROCK/RRM has put it up on the boards for a reason... it's available and for sale. Call them up and ask away/order it. They'll get it on site soon... Thanks for the support guys. Dyno's will come soon. Rock is waiting for the other more aggressive tunes to be done so that they can all be dyno'd at once. Then you can choose which you want!

How about the guy who decided to test it right there in the parking lot

And I believe Rock hasn't put it on the site yet because he doesn't have that many in stock (limited core ECUs to start out with), so he decided to make it exclusive for us (evom and SCLC members) for now, and then open it up to others when he has more available,

Could be right there Urban... that guy that tested in parking lot... well where are you?? That was a show stopper there. Everyone was looking like WTF... Especially after getting booted from Balboa for similiar things by another group of cars. No harm no foul though right?
