moving to vegas

hey guys. i made a thread months ago about potentually moving to vegas, well now its looking more official, and ill be out there next friday for my final interview. now my big issue is where to live. before i said i woudl be buying a house but now its making more sense to rent, at least at first. well i know absoultely nothign about vegas, so while im out there next week, where should i be looking to live? i will be working on the strip. i think i want to live in more of a condo, or big apartment building. i apreciate all your advice, and im looking forward to meeint you guys if i do move out there

I think there are a number of new apt/condos going up on the south end of the strip by South Pointe. I think one is L5, http://www.l5vegas.com/. There are several others. Although im not sure that place is even open yet. Check out Craigslist. That seems to be a pretty good tool here in vegas.

thanks for the responses. l5 seems cool but doesnt look like its open yet. i really dont think living on the strip makes any sense (maybe it does what do i know) so where are some neighborhoods, or areas i should be looking into? can anyone recommend a development? ten min commute doesnt seem too bad..

The nicer places to live are either, Green Valley Henderson area or summerlin. Check out the 89052 area code. That's my neighborhood and I see a few places to rent around there. Very nice area. Good luck

89139 is kinda between Summerlin and the strip. blue diamond and rainbow... its about 10-15 min in the morning. its not a bad drive at all. Tons of new developments... in fact i think this whole area is not much more than 1 year old.

They're good to look around but the human experience and opinion is much better.
