You mean you took out the entire piece, or just the mesh? I was actually thinking about it the other day because the Subaru STi WRC car has that hood with the hole in the front and they sell the hood for the WRX. Is it safe though?

 

Nappy, the louver piece in the hood vent can be popped out in two seconds (4 plastic screws). Taking it off increases the cooling efficiency of the hood opening. It is totally safe, although your engine bay gets a little more dirty. Removing it is deffinately a good idea for track days, and maybe a good idea for canyon runs etc...But if you don't do any of that stuff leave it on. I took mine off within a couple of weeks, and after talking to Rhys Millen about it...both the RMR EVO 8 and the rally spec 7 have the piece removed.

one of those silvers was probably me. I live right near there. there's also another silver that lives a block away from me, pretty funny. I think he got his one week after me.

I think it's odd that there's so many evos in the santa monica area, yet I hardly ever see any driving around. I don't think I see even one a week. and I've only seen 2 stis so far, one of them tonight on the way home. maybe I need to get out more often

 

yea its strange we all live like 5 mintues away from each other in any direction i think its 2 silver 2 red 2 yellow and 1 white all in the same area.

I just recruited a black one today.........I was pulling out of the SMC parking lot and after awhile he followed me, then after we were side to side and I told him to pull over. He told me he just got it and only had 200+ miles on it. He bought it from SM mitsubishi. I told him to come to the meet on Sunday.....Hopefully he will call me........His name is Lewis.....
