D1 in Irwindale
Well, it was awesome, not to mention historic. The first round of elims was fairly tame, but things got really interesting from the second round on. The crowd really got into it, and the drifters were not tiptoeing around the track. There was some good contact, and an all around willingness to burn rubber and blow headgaskets like only sponsored racers can

Just got back for D1, it was definitely the $hit!!! Those Japanese drivers drove the most awesome cars
and did the sickest stunts I've ever seen
Met up with couple Evo owners there and saw quite a few Evos at the parking lot. Definitely a great event, well worth the money

damn i just got back from D1. DA BEST EVENT EVAR!!! but i'm so pissed cuz i only got to take a few picks. man did anyone see that 16 yr old drift?! he wasn't good but still, 16 FREAKIN YRS OLD AND HE CAN DRIFT!!
i just got back from D1...
omg! Ernie f*in tore it up during the "final 4" round! daaaaamn! he deserves it big ups to him!
but i gotta give it up for my boy Ken Nomura and his ER34 sedan! monkey man rocks! and Taniguchi in his S15 with his ***** out high speed drifts rocked...smoking tires and body damage got the people hyped up...water supplies ran out at the consession stands, food was waaay over priced and the lines were 30min. long....good thing i brought a cooler back pack with some drinks and cold cut sandwiches
I parked across the freeway in some buisness parking lot i didn't mind the walk free parking and the adrenaline to see my fav. drifter drift again[ken nomura] since i last went to japan got my mind off of having to walk so far...entrance fee was 20 bucks but i got in for free since i was helping out with the T5 motorsports/Tein booth...unfortunately my pit pass was given to some loser that got there before me...so during the first round of elims i was a few feet to the right where Josh[nynuagh]was...too bad we don't know each other i would've said whats up...during the break i walked around and found my buddies Nadine and Ben[they're the drift couple in the DRIFTING magazine] and they were able to get me and my buddies into the staging pits!!! i was right next to Ken Nomura! while he waited in line for his run!! woo hoo hehehe.
anyway all in all it was a great day...i had my camera with me...its not digital so you'll have to wait i have some great multiple exposure action shots from the pit areas.
