Make the drive to Tuning Technologies in Colton. Alfred is a great tuner! It's a bit of a hike from NorCal but definitely worth it!

Thanx a lot Donny! Nice to hear from you all the way on the East Coast! Hope all is well with you and the New Year.

OP: Feel free to call us if youd like more information. We have tuned well over 1000 Evo's in house and tune exclusively here in Calif for several Race teams such as Rhys Millen Racing, SKUNK2 and K&N Engineering/Filters.

We also just took podium with AMS, and Technosquare in Sport Compact Cars Ultimate Street Car Challenge 2008. We won driveability, accelearation and the 1.4 mile! Here is a link to our acceleration and 1/4 mile wins:

Our track record speaks for itself.

Good Luck with your ongoing drama nj1266.......good luck

Alfred

I recommend Bryan...He is hands down the best tuner in CA. Plus he is very close to you. So it is a win-win situation. He is also very humble and shares data and information freely with everyone in EcuFlash sub-forum even though his shop is a vendor.

Exactly. I rarely see the pro-tuners in here contributing freely to the community. I know that there are tuners using the Tephra patch and using the ECUflash definitions and patches from mrfred, but I do not see them help out or answer a question. Bryan, on the other hand, is here most of the time answering questions and contributing free data to the community.

The two options within driving distance i have in mind are Speed Element and Vishnu. I am also open to having it done by a qualified member of the forums that is within driving distance of Fresno. Any input is much appreciated

Remote is your best best. Jay @ BoostedTuning. com or Gary @ BainsTuned.
If you have to go to a shop, I dunno. I haven't found any I really trust, especially within driving distance of Fresno. Bryan a GST is a great option for an in-person tune, if that works for you.
Also, Jay and Gary make house calls, IIRC.

Bryan moved to the East Coast. Gary tunes out of speed element and uses their dyno.

Gary Bains tuned my Evo X on flex fuel. Great tune, reasonable guy. Can be a bit difficult to get a hold at time, and it's always nice having a tuner 'tied' to a shop - but N. Cal is limited. All in all, my experience with Gary has been very good and I will use him again. Back to the point about shops - that's a more difficult onion to peel IMO. Some shops don't seem to have adequate familiarity with the 4B11, other are charging $149/hr. Everybody needs to make a living, but that ain't makin money, that's taken money. If someone knows a good shop/mechanic who can do upgrades, please shout.
