To get official passes is alot more regulated then in the past yes.
PS I know the days of SEMA, and if it was on my wedding day only I wouuldn't even consider going. Only want to take Monita for a few hours so she can see what its all about. IE: Anyone with passes does not use said pass for the entire time the event is going on. Get it?
Sema has turned into a sideshow that they are cracking down on people not being legit.
I got my badge in the mail, and scan card. I am going down early to get the holder. Got to go to a companies booth with a setup car a few days beforehand.

+1 they say that **** every year and I've gone the last few years. they half a$$ check it when you pick up your holder.
