Save you clutch and drivetrain for the track. That is what I do. No launches on the street due to it seems to grip a lil more harsh than the tracks I have ran my car at. With the stock clutch at the 1320 my friend could get good 60 fts with a high rpm dump. The key is to get the tires to spin and avoid wheel hop. On the streets I get wheel hop because my Evo gets too much grip on public paved roads. Launch alot on the streets and you are asking for TC and clutch failures.Plus it is hard to simulate track launches on the street for the reasons above. So avoid it at all costs and just do a high rpm dump at the track. OUT!

Did he pick up the time slip or do they just give you guys the time you run and not the opponent. If he ran 13 flat and you were just a car back I believe you did at least 13.8.

no, they only give u yours. but the only person to run a flat 13 is evo81. shawn best time is a 13.3 or 13.4. but hey i dont have a slip and thats my fault. i wasnt informed about them till after i ran. people saw when it was done, thats should be enough.

i just gonna do my best. its weird though. a dump is perfectly for the track but slipping is good on the street. i dont know what technique to use know

In my experience a dump on the street is not as effective at the track. On the street it is easy to burn up you clutch trying to use any approach. I would slip on the streets to avoid blowing up the TC and burning up the clutch. Never and I repeat never do more than one launch every 15 minutes. You will burn your clutch out really quick like that. at the track do a high rpm rev dump to induce a lil wheel spin and get ready for 2nd gear cause it will come fast. BTW I have a cusco twin on my car and I will not street launch with it but at the track I do a fast slip. The dump method is for single plate clutches at the track where wheelspin is your friend. Don't rev high enough and you get the dreaded bog.

If that was a 13.4 run and you were a car or lil more back 13.8 is conceivable.

ya i used the dump method when i first went to the track and it work good. it was just a little hard gettin the right rpms and tryin to get a good reaction time if the cars before were fast. dumpin on the street equals a major bog. slipping works better on the street might even work good on the strip. we'll see

ya, thats what i nervous about. like i said i did it only once. i mean john knows i did it along wit alex. they just give me hell about it. i hoping i will do it again and hopefully reach a better time. but if i dont get the perfect launch and hit them gears...im screwed. sh*t ur signature says it all. the variable is the driver. the car can do it, but can i.

the only thing im worried about is my shifting. i shift quick as f*ck. so i worried about missing a gear. alex and john know how fast i shift, thats why john wont let me drive his car. in a little over 2 weeks we will see if i can dont it

so practice if u must cuz this has been in discussion for so long that u got no choice now, u got a little less than 3 weeks to be ready. I know u shouldn't practice but u may want to consider it, cuz getting 13.5 again wont be a walk in the park my friend.
