Hey guys-

I was just curious to know how much boost can i run (safely on pump gas) on an evo 8 here in Los angeles? On my 300zx i can only run 14 psi on pump since we have the crappy 91 octane, but i here that the evo can handle more but i wanted to make sure.

Stock evo is 19 psi isn't it? Mine knocks a bit stock, but that is because of the ***** tuning. Go to a legit tuner and just let them set it up.

 

Thanks alot. Yeh i hear ya on the tune, as we all know "its all in the tune". I plan on having road-race-motorsports be my new mechanics and i here they are like second to none around the L.A. area.

 

Depending on what you have on your Evo and what the shop tunes it up at....my VIII ran at around 22-24.

 

You should be able to run 21 - 22 psi (peak) and it will taper to ~16psi on stock turbo. If you get a 9 turbo or FP green, you'll be able to hold a tad more boost on 91 octane...If you run methanol injection, you'll be able to run a lot more boost ...
