Pulled all my spark plugs for the first time at 10,000 miles to check and they were all gapped below 0.20.Very odd so i gapped it at 0.22.Anyone had the same issue here?

I know the gapping on the IX's and VIII's are different, but what I was told here is that if you look in the service manual they have a rather large spread over which they can be gapped, so if factory is at .22 I'm sure .20 wouldn't be too bad. Then again I was breaking up under high RPM's with mine gapped at .026 and had to drop it down to .024 and it actually made the car run much better.

So with t-clamps, it's still blowing off? Have you tried hairspray? I struggled with the piping blowing off also at 23psi even with t-clamps, but hairspray and more muscle into torquing the t-clamps solved it.

I replaced the battery and fixed the passenger side window in the Viper Saturday. It was a PITA since the battery is tucked behind the rear wheel, requiring the wheel and splash guards to be removed before getting to it. Great for weight distribution, but I wish they made an access through the trunk or something.

I heard about the hairspray trick after we already put it back on. I had a big guy crank it about a full inch past the lip on the pipe. After talking with Alan, he suggested and I agree that its probably the stock motor mounts. As violent as autocross is, the motor is jerking around, and causing the coupler to pop off, not the boost itself. Would make sense to me. Its back on now, and good, ran the entire day sunday, morning and afternoon, 12 runs with no problems whatsoever.

I also cranked the tbolts down to where they are almost touching hehe.

next one is june 28th and 29th..you should come.

AutoExotica is this coming up weekend. I'm heading down Saturday and maybe Sunday. If anyone wants to go down (hehe sounds dirty) then we can set something up. My polisher is still in the process of getting shipped out, but if anyone here is putting their car in I'd still be happy to put some polish/glaze/wax or whatever by hand.

Also my GF and I have started doing Capoeira (Brazilian martial art; www.tahoecapoeira.com) and if anyone is interested we have free "playing" session downtown at Java Jungle, so feel free to come by and if you want lessons check out the site and just show up.
