Auto Hobby: A do-it-yourself Auto Center

Hello Evo folks!

My name is Joey and I'm co-owner of Auto Hobby. My partner and I realized one night that there needs to be a place for enthusiasts. A place to do their own work. I didn't want some 'mechanic' touching my ride or telling me things where wrong when they weren't. We decided that there must be a better way. A few beers later, we realized we were going to open a shop up that YOU could rent by the hour. We provide the tools and lifts, and you do the work. That simple. Just sign up to be a member (only takes 5 minutes, and is FREE), and enjoy a FULL shop with lifts, air tools, smoke testers (find those BOOST leaks!!!), mechanics on site to help you out, and a wide array of hand tools. Best part, you are in a clean, safe, and organized environment! Best part is our "Test and Tune" package we are trying to develop with a neighboring shop. FSR Motorsports Creations has been kind enough to team up with us to offer a unique ability for you guys! We are hoping that we can arrange for you guys to come down to the shop and strap the car to the dyno for a pull or two and see what your WHP is. Then come next door, install your exhaust, new fuel injectors, intake, etc and go back onto the dyno. This way you can actually see your results! How great is that? What could be better? You working on YOUR car. At Auto Hobby, its your car, your way.

Many people ask: How did you ever get insurance/permission to do something like this? Well, We contacted a local broker the specializes in 'uncommon' types of insurance. Insurance for businesses that are more risky then others (party tent rental, bounce houses, etc.). It took about 50 working days to get insurance locked in, but we did. We have two policies (I can't go into much detail in public about them, sorry.) but both combined have us covered into the 7 figure range. We will have a FULL packet of papers for you to sign before you enter the shop, and you will be given a safety demo/tour of the facility. There is obviously supervision on the shop floor at all times. We will have 1 person there and also a mechanic as well. If you have a question or issue, just ask and we would love to help you out. If we see someone using a tool in an in proper manner, we will help and advise. We obviously don't want any safety issues to arise because the safety of our patrons is the highest priority. If we see someone making the environment dangerous to others and themselves, we will simply ask them to leave the shop. Their reckless $40 IS NOT worth YOURS or mine safety. The shop also will have 8-10 security cameras with night vision and 24-hr recording. If something happens in the shop, we will see it. Whether it is injury, theft, damage, etc we will know exactly what happened. We have already consulted legal councel (the first stop after we conceived this idea was an attorney to see even if it was viable) and we feel that between our forms, policies, and security measures that the environment will be VERY safe and secure.

Follow us on Face Book, just search Auto Hobby Garage, and we will pop up. We run promotions that get you FREE shop time and stay up to date on all the latest happenings at the shop. We will have a lounge with refreshments, video games, TV, internet, etc so you can just come hang out and talk cars.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, let us know. We love to talk cars and love to meet people that are enthusiastic like us.

Thanks guys!

Joey
