First Ever EOC/SoCalEvo Driving School!!!!!
Attention all track day enthusiasts, and beginners alike! The Evolution Owners Club (EOC) and SoCalEvo.net are teaming up for our first ever track event. It will also be our first in a line of planned driving schools. The EOC was started in February 2004 and is the independant Driver's Club affiliate of SoCalEvo.net. The EOC is dedicated entirely to organizing and running track events for Lancer Evolution owners who want to experience what their car was really meant to do: BE FAST ON THE RACE TRACK! Come out and see for yourself what owning an EVO is all about!
EVENT DETAILS:
Date- Wed April 28th-Thur April 29th 2004
Place- Streets of Willow Springs
Spots Available- 30, EVO's ONLY!!
Cost- $250 per driver (2 driver maximum per car)**
**The price includes track time, full day instruction from professional race drivers, and timing (that's right the timing is included in the price!!)
Our instruction is of the highest quality available! Our instructors all have backgrounds in a large range of professional motorsports, and include some very high profile names, not only in the EVO world, but in the world of motorsports and the automotive industry as well.
The EOC difference?
#1-Our prices are set at a mere fraction of the cost for a typical driving school of this caliber and scope. Most schools START at around triple the price for one day, and usually don't offer the same level of instruction! We give you not only on-track instruction, but timing--so you can track your progress and classroom instruction the night before the event so you'll know what to expect when you get out there.
#2-We limit registration (in this case to 30 cars only) to ensure the absolute highest quality of instruction while cutting on-track traffic to virtually nothing! read: You will experience an unprecidented amount of "clean" laps, and will be able to learn at your own pace!
#3-Our events are open to LANCER EVOLUTION MODELS ONLY!! This means there won't be any civics/integras/BMW's/Mustangs etc... This guarantees consistency in the instruction process, and a common interest amongst ALL participants!
#4-By holding the drivers meeting and classroom activities the night before the event, the participants get between 1 and 2 hours of EXTRA track time. Track time is precious!
Think you're fast? Want to be faster? Ever wanted to get your EVO to the track, but never had the opportunity? Curious about what all the track buzz is about? If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, then this is the perfect event for you!
Check out the EOC at www.evolutionownersclub.com for more details about what we do, or check the EOC threads in the Driving/Competition forum at the largest Evolution enthusiast club in the country at www.socalevo.net You can also PM me with any questions. But hurry, space is very limited and running out VERY FAST!
See you out on the track!

We welcome local chapters to be started... the idea here is to get as many evo's to the track and as many evo owners skills to drive as possible- did I mention the bit about having a lot of fun!
Checkout the site and if you are seriously interested in
helping to start a local chapter of eoc, email rich or myself:
www.evolutionownersclub.com
I'd be interested in setting up the NY area chapter, but I only have one concern.
By limiting your participants to only Lancer Evolution owners/drivers, you're doing yourself more harm than good. Although you do want instructors that are familiar with the car, you do not want to limit your sample base to only those that own our cars. I know of a few Evo owners that are seriously interested in tracking their cars, at least around here.
You get a better quality of instructors when you get guys who are in Porsche race cars on a regular basis as opposed to weekend warriors who do half a dozen track days a year in their daily drivers.

Hey Joe....I about to ask you to assist me to start a NY (tristate) chapter of some sort. I know you have far more experience in this field. I'll give you a call somethis weekend to discuss.
Ric and Gt40... I didnt see anything on teh site that refers to starting a chapter.

Okay,
Mark from Quantum Racing is interested in getting some real instructors to a track like mid ohio. Price and date are still a variable but let's start a list to see if there is interest.
Anyone wanting to do a tristate chapter should talk post here and see what tracks you want to build this around. Once you have settled on a track, contact us to see if we can include you on the site. START A LIST AND DO A POLL TO CHOOSE A TRACK! If you want to make this real, step up and get 30 or so drivers and 10 instructors.
Btw, this is about getting alot of evos to the track and professional instruction as cheap as possible. EOC is about quality track time, skills and complete and insane fun. You think your fast, come kick some ***!
NO franchise fee bs etc. Let's just make this happen and build an EVO cup series after people get some instruction.

Mid Ohio's a go for me. It should work out well, since we can get people from as far as Chicago to come on down and participate. Like I said, if we open it up to Evo's and other cars, I can get a couple SCCA Pro Rally hasbeens from the Audi Quattro days to teach us slobs how to take a line.
Other viable options might be Lime Rock, VIR, Summit Point, the Glen, etc...but I'm more willing than most to drive 12 hours to a track.
Mid Ohio has great on site instructors and their school is very good. I'd be careful of how easily students get Solo'd, though. I don't want to see this turn into a PDA event, where you get no track time not because you're in the classroom, but because the tow truck and ambulance are doing more laps than you are.

Hey guys! I'm glad to see that there's interest in starting chapters across the country so soon, and we will be contacting those interested directly, very soon. Organizing our first event and planning everything so that all runs perfectly smooth is our main focus right now. That being said...Is there anyone else on this board interested in having the track experience of their life? Secret Chimp is in...where's everyone else??? Check out the site www.evolutionownersclub.com or pm gt40 or myself here. Get on the bus!!
