Banning Imports at the Pavillons Weekly Car Show
Banning Imports at the Pavillons Weekly Car Show
Guys, not sure if you heard about the Pavillons banning imports. But just wanted to share and pass the word. It was announced this last Saturday, that they will begin to ticket people for loitering if you are trying to show your import at the car show.
The following is an quotation from another forum post:
I for one will follow suit of some the other forum members and take my business elsewhere and boycott the entire Pavillons business loop until they reconsider their decisions.
The following is an quotation from another forum post:
"So here's the history:
Pavillions started out as a classic car show years ago. Over time, it has evolved into many different cars, trucks and bikes coming to the show, and it growing from 4 isles to over 10.
As the show has grown, the demographics have switched from older guys who restored their classic Bel Aire, Mustang, and so on, to a younger demographic with custom trucks, bikes and imports.
As we all know, a person is smart, people are dumb. As a group expands it develops a mob mentality, where typical standards of behavior get skewed. There are alot of immature people that go to the pavillions in their Hondas, Mazdas, Toyotas, Trucks and so on. As the crowd grows, the allure of doing a burnout for the chicks, blowing flames out your exhaust, and thumping your base gets greater and greater.
So, as the crowd has grown, so have the idiots, problems occured and the danger of something bad occuring has increased. This must have attracted the attention of the police and the insurance, and something must be done to reduce this risk.
McDonalds, the host of the "Rock and Roll" car show decided it would be best to ban imports, low riders and as they call it "the fast and furious crowd"
At first, we accepted this, and moved our cars to a different part of the parking lot. We were fine till the police realized that we were doing this, and in a sense having a car show/gathering in another part of the parking lot. As we were not customers at the time to any of the facilities, and we were not part of the car show, we were in effect loitering.
We must remember, that this is private property. If they say we are not welcome, we are NOT, and that is enforceable by law with a trespassing warning, and later violation.
The police are just doing their job, we cannot be angry at the police for enforcing the will of the owners. Who we must deal with is McDonalds, and the owners/responsible parties for the pavillions parking lot.
You all have to understand that there IS a problem. McDonalds is doing what they thought would be best to deal with the problem. We feel that they made the wrong decision. The problem has to be dealt with... what can be done to alleviate the problem and make everyone happy?
Now, The best power we have as consumers, is the power of the dollar. Every Saturday night, our relitively small group alone spends quite a lot of money on food, snacks and such (McDonalds, YCs Mongoilian BBQ, KFC, Dennys, Charlies Steakery, Arbys, 5&Diner, the list goes on and on). Not to mention the secondary sales that are generated from seeing the various stores surrounding, (Home Depot, BBQs Galore, Lamps Plus ect.) and later supporting these places by coming to them for our purchases. Each one of these companies will see a decrease in sales from baning the car groups that they did. They should see a dramatic decrease in sales as the target demographic for many of these places is the 18-35 age group that was mostly excluded from the show..
I think that if we point out the significant financial loss that these companies will be facing, that they may reconsider their decision to eliminate this huge group of consumers that are now VERY upset at the situation.
I am willing to spearhead this group on behalf of all the consumers but I will need your help.
First I would like for you all to post this to as many AZ boards and message ques that you can for groups that have been excluded. This includes any and all that you have access to. 240, BMW, Trucks, lowriders, supras, and so forth, when in doubt, expand and send.
I would like any and all people that get this message to tell me their feelings, hopefully expressing their dissapointment and what they plan on doing to express their disapointment and suggest something that can be done to solve the problems that have been occuring at the pavillions.
Anyone who would like to express this, can E-mail me, and I will compile and bring to McDonalds and other businesses at the pavillions hopefully a HUGE stack of paper, along with a proposed plan for solving the ongoing issues at the pavillions.

Thank you all for your contribution. If this box gets flooded and your mail bounces, please wait a few hours and try again.
Again, Thank you,"
