Las Vegas EVO registration, How much $$$

Hi, I am buying my EVO in NJ and I am registering it at the NJ dealer to my address on Nellis AFB. The dealer has to charge me the Nevada sales tax and Nevada registration. How much did you guys pay when you bought your cars to register it in Vegas?

Thumbs down

Ha...registration in NV is focking crazy...it depends on how much your car cost. The lower the price, the less for registration. My EVO was around $500-$550 to register. Tax currently is 7.25%, but it's going to raise to 7.5% soon because they need more Police on the streets.

On a positive note, your insurance will be lower than Jersey which is insane, even though Vegas insurance is high. Remember, there are no toll roads here, so pay your 500 for registration and that's it. It gradually lowers every year that the car gets older.

In jersey its 50 for registration, but add in turnpike tolls and bridges for a year and see how much it is. Plus no inspection here, just smog check.

BTW, there's no way in hell voters will approve a increase in sales tax for cops. They tried that a few years ago and it was shot down hard. One thing about Nevada, people hate government intrusion and taxes. It's the wild west still in many aspects.

You said you were in the AF right? If you're not a Nevada resident, its $36 flat. We are exempt from privelege taxes...
