Massive Meet in Fremont, CA 10/12

Please post if you are interested.

SPECIAL NOTE:
-Please read the
Release of Liability Statement waver. You will be required to
sign it for your protection and ours as well (since the meet will be
pretty huge).

-This is a potluck event. Please post which/what food or drinks you
are bringing (no alcohol). WE NEED FOOD! Drinks, sandwiches, bread,
chips, sodas, plates, napkins, forks, cups, ice boxes, ice, water, soda,
soy milk, pancit, egg rolls, chow mein, chow fun, fried rice, tacos,
cocktain shrimp, desserts, and something to heat it all up if needed (like
those little burners and grills). So post which/what food you are
bringing so we can get a complete list. Much thanks!

-Restroom facilities for this meet will have to be used at the Jack in
the Box down the street. Just don't tell them why they have 20 people
lined up at their restroom instead of their order line.

What:
End of Summer Car Meet

When:
Saturday, 10/12/2002, Time 12:00pm

Where:
Logitech Parking Lot
Address: 6505 Kaiser Drive, Fremont 94555

If coming on 880:
take Decoto/84 West exit
turn towards the Dumbarton Bridge
take Newark Blvd/Ardonwood Blvd exit (the 1st exit after you get on
84W)
turn right on Ardenwood Blvd
turn left on Kaiser Dr
It's the 3rd building on the right, look for the big Logitech logo

Who's going:
Over a Hundred cars.
Chech the Reference Thread.

Event Lineup:
-Lunch
This is a potluck event at Logitech in Fremont. Please bring food,
softdrinks, plastic utensils, napkins, and your own chair (Walmart or
Kmart should have those folding ones for sale). I'll look into seeing if I
can bring in a gas burner if there are food that needs reheating.
We'll have a couple of garbage bags so we can keep the area clean.

SECURITY NOTE:
Logitech security already knows that we'll be having a meet. This has
already been prearranged by one of the organizers. So no worries from
them calling Fremont PD on us. They're kuu.

-Socializing with fellow car owners and enthusiasts
Remember, we're here to have fun and check each other's rides out.
This is a great time to socialize and get to know each other's cars. So
be kuu with one another.

-Group picture(?)
Man, I dunno how we're gonna do this with so many cars. But we'll pull
it off somehow.

-Mountain run at Mt. Hamilton (lotta twisties) from Alum Rock Rd to the
Observatory and back down the same way.

UPDATE:
Mt. Hamilton is a go.

Only the skilled and experienced may apply. We're gonna do a bit of
scenic driving on Mt Hamilton. We will be doing this run at a
relatively easy pace. So take it easy. Be warned that this *IS*
dangerous as there are limited barriers, a steep cliff to worry about,
bicyclists, pedestrians, and animals to worry about. Plus, remember that there
are other drivers in this run, so please keep this in mind. You are
required to drive responsibly, so PAY ATTENTION to your situation at all
times. We want to keep this as safe as possible, so these runs will be
limited to those with experience and a high degree of driving skills on
mountain and canyon roads. For those who may want to hitch a ride with
an experienced driver or friend, we will be doing a stop right before
the runs near the base and you can drop your car off there and hitch a
ride then. If enough people go, we may seperate into two or more groups
pending on experience level.

*ONCE AGAIN*, respect the bikers, respect the road, respect your car,
respect yourself. Keep it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you.

Schedule:
11:00am -
Those who are interested can come help setup for the food and
whats-not. We'll be designating certain spots of the parking lot for cars so
that we have more 'car coordination' due to the large amount of vehicles
that will be arriving.

12:00pm -
Official start of the event. Cars should be first arriving. You will
sign the Release of Liabilities waver and will be assigned a parking
spot by our traffic coordinators according to your car's make, model, and
year. This is so when we take photos, people will see that this isn't
simply a huge parking lot with a bunch of cars, it'll be a nicely
coordinated event highlighting each and every make, model, and year of your
vehicle. So please follow the traffic coordinators instructions when
parking your rides. Be proud of your rides and let's show the rest of
the world how the SF Bay Area and Norcal Cali car owners like to do it
BIG. Much thanks!

3:00pm -
Start cleaning up and getting ready for the Calaveras runs. If there
are enough cars, we'll split up into two seperate run groups. Please
bring a 2-way radio if you are interested in the Calaveras runs so we
can have radio contact with the two groups.

3:30pm -
Leave for Alum Rock Rd for the Mt Hamilton runs. You can follow and
then hitch a ride later on. Just remember to respect the driver and not
distract him/her while they're driving. Oh yeah, take a leak before
you ride. Trust me on this.

4:00pm -
Start of the Mt Hamilton runs.
Remember, this is at your own risk. Please drive responsibly as there
are bikers and whats-not there during the weekend. So please keep it
as safe as possible. These runs are subject to be limited to those with
a high degree of experience and skills (we'll probably be limiting the
runs to 20-30 cars at most, we'll see). Those who are less experienced
can hitch a ride. We'll be starting from Alum Rock Rd in San Jose.

Notes:
-PLEASE READ: Since this will be at a friend's company's location (much
props to Teddy Liu aka Fourgig btw for the location), there will be
absolutely no burnouts, donuts, reckless driving, or any irresponsible
behavior that may cost us this location. Remember, this is in
FREMONT. There was concerned for the location (think Fremont Police =
harassment), but luckily the area is considered safe for our cars. The
location's security is aware of this meet so we're cool on that point.
But this doesn't mean we can do whatever we want. We DON'T want
unecessary attention to the local police there. So please be responsible and
try not to spoil it for the other participants. Also, let's keep this
safe and fun for everyone. And be kuu with one another. We're all
enthusiasts here. The organizers of this event will have a zero tolerance
for any drama or bad ish. If any drama goes down, those who caused it
and participated will be immediately removed from the premises. So
leave attitude out the door and enjoy yourselves. We're all here to
learn, check out cars, and enjoy ourselves for this end of summer event.
Much love and thanks!
-This meet is open to all cars.
