Smile Dyno in SoCal

Hey guys, I am looking to slowly start modifying my Evo. I have had the Evo since last April, and am still on my stock clutch at 30,000 miles on the odometer. I wanted to get a baseline dyno run in to see what its making stock. Do you guys know of a good shop in the IE, OC, or LA, and what the going rate is for a dyno run? I called GTMotorsport in the IE, and they quoted me $150 / hour. That seemed a little high to me, but I don't really have too much information on what the going rate should be. Also, does anyone have any experience with GTMotorsport? I live pretty close to them, but didn't even know about them till I read an old post about dyno testing. I usually take my Evo to RRE for major maintenance work, but I don't think they have a dyno available. Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

Theres the Los Angeles Performance Division (LAPD) in canoga park.....
www.thelapd.com

Also XS Engineering
www.xs-engineering.com

Harman Motives
http://www.harmanmotive.com/

LAPD and Harman both uses dynojets and XS has a dyno dynamics dyno. Give them a shout.....but it seems like it's always around 120-150 for 3 dyno runs and A/F readings. Of course, some of these guys will be nice and if it's not too busy, let you have a couple of extra runs heh. Have fun and good luck.

Thanks for the info. But has anyone used GTMotorsport before? If they have a good setup I would rather use them since they are closer to home.

if you're just trying to get a basline dyno for now, you don't need an hour. If they bill that by the minute, you might get away with only having to pay about $30 to get 3 pulls. Otherwise, the going rate seems to be about $75 for 3 pulls. Get hourly dyno time when you have someone there tuning your computer and stuff. Otherwise, it's just in and out to find out what your car has now.

Thanks. I guess I will keep looking, and maybe ask the guys at RRE for a recommendation when I take my car there.

I am pretty sure they go to a shop very close to them when they dyno their own cars. Otherwise, I had mine dynoed at LAPD in Chatsworth and will return to them since the price is fair and I want to see what I got out of my exhaust.
