works p2 269 cam flash

Would the 269 cams p2 flash work well with the 10.5T exhaust housing if i were to install it? I was curious about that.

The larger exhaust housing allows for more flow at high RPMs. The WORKS 269 cams should compliment it well.

Would it make any sense if I get the 269 Cams and retainers if I have just a P2R flash and intake as mods? Do you guys recommend another component prior to the 269 Cams? I am planning to get this done with a timing belt replacement from you guys in the next 600 miles.

Thanks Works,
Anthony

I have 269 cams in my car ( installed by prior owner) AT 22psi on a Mustang dyno I only made 284 whp. I also have a DC sports downpipe/no cat, and an Invidia N1 exhaust. My buddies with HKS 272's and such are all over 300 whp with same Mods......as I thought I'd have atleast seen 300 whp.

Although on a dynojet I am just above 300 whp, so I guess it's really depends on where you'd like the power in the powerband too.

I noticed in your sig it says you ran a 12.68, what do you buddies run with the HKS 272's?

To be honest......they aren't running much better tiems than me...(12.40's 12.10's) but all trap higher than me like 110mph to 113mph. My 12.68 was only my 2nd pass ever too..... I think these 269's cams are really geared toward spreading the power out evenly throughout hte powerband. The 272's and such just have more top end.......

That sounds pretty accurate. WORKS engineered the 269 Power Cams to have broad, useable power across the RPM band. We did not engineer them based on peak output. Our goal was to generate a graph that looks more like a plateau than a pyramid. Even so, we see minimum "peak" gains of +29 ft-lbs/+29 HP on the VIIIs with further improvements elsewhere in the curve.
