oil catch can
oil catch can
I've been wondering how to properly install an oil catch can in my 03 evo 8 and as well as my friends 03 wrx. We've figured puttin the can between the pcv valve and the intake. Is there anything else that needs to be done? All help is most appreciated.

many threads on evo about this - here's one:

The catch can idea came from the evoM forum and consists of a 5-micron filter designed to be used inline between a compressor and a pneumatic tool. They recommend the Campbell Hausfield MP513810 but I used an equivalent product from Home Depot/Husky: HDA70400AV. It says 125F max temp which could be a problem - we'll see. Tubing is standard fuel-line from my favorite hardware store: Busy Bee in Santa Monica.
Update: After the Sears day I can say this solution seems to work fine. It caught some oily/water mixture and I drained it into the cap of a Mobil1 5w30 container. It filled the cap about 2/3 of the way after 1000+ mile of hard driving.
