EVO IX Cams

Cosworth, the leader in racing engine technology, is providing WORKS with 272 cams for the Evolution IX. Cosworth has spent countless hours of R&D to ensure that these cams are of the highest quality available. These cams are scheduled to be in stock by the middle of October. WORKS is currently taking pre-orders to guarantee your place in line. We will be following up this thread with data provided by Cosworth on the performance characteristics of these cams.

Due to the scarcity of these cams, WORKS will require a $500 deposit per set. The price for the WORKS EVO IX cam package is $1,099 including WORKS valve springs and Ti retainers. The first five (5) customers that are local will also be receiving an installation special with the purchase of the cam package for the Evolution IX.

Current P2 customers will still receive the free reflash update and those completing the TR-340 package will be eligible to receive the “WORKS TR-340” trunk lid badge in either bright chrome or solid black.

Sincerely,

The WORKS Team

So, taking pre-orders, but still no hard performance data. Sigh.

Why do you guys offer springs and retainers? I thought 272's were middle of the road cams and shouldn't really require valvetrain mods unless you plan on revving past 8,000? Just wondering, not nit-picking.

Remember: 264, 269, 272, 280, etc... all refer to duration not lift. One mfr's 272 may not lift as far as another's. If these are a high lift 272, I can see where WORKS would require the springs/retainers so they don't have a bunch of whining about, "...well why didn't make me buy the springs and retainers if you knew there was a chance of breakage? Boo Hoo!"

Better for them to err on the side of caution...

Right. JUN 272's are more agressive than HKS 280's I believe.

I wish these guys would give us info with their stuff. They are always sooo quiet that they scare me away from their products. '...countless hours spent...' is nice, but where's the data to prove results? Info?

Check the Cosworth website...they are pretty good about supplying specifics on their products. I would not look for WORKS to put out dyno sheets, doesn't seem to be their style. However, their customers seem happy. I guess that counts for something.

WORKS is not the only Cosworth outlet. Unless they have an exclusive on these...can't imagine Cossie putting all their eggs in one basket, the Ford days are done. Might check with a certain tuner in northern IL, on the south edge of Lake MI, that I believe you have been to BoomN...
