Greetings,
The Ohlins Stage IV are best suited to track use, since you would almost never benefit from the remote reservoir aspect of the coilover. That being said, they have a wide range of adjustability and with differentiating WORKS spring combinations, a great setup can be had for both street and track. We are constantly developing our own library of settings (both suspension and alignment) that will allow a comfort setting for street driving and providing a track setting with only a few adjustments.
In order to perfect any setting, the Stage IV’s as with any quality coilover, will have to be setup for particular tracks, since they all have their inherent differences in terms of smoothness and curbing, so one setting would always be a compromise in terms of a single setup for both street and track.
I can also provide my thoughts after covering 2,500 miles of street driving in our Time Attack EVO that the Stage IV’s with 12kg fronts and 11kg rears (custom) are very livable, in fact the ride is much more controlled than the stock suspension. There is something to be said for a component to allow for vast improvements in laptimes and allow for a relatively smooth ride home.
Also, we will have three cars at the SCCA National Runoffs for Autocross that will have the WORKS Stage IV installed. Stay tuned for more announcements.
Give us a call for pricing and rebuild scenarios.
Sincerely,
Oliver Simons
