Beginner question! need help!

Hello everyone, I need some opinions from you guys because I'm really worried right now. I just bought a second hand 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII about a week ago, it has around 12,000 miles on it and only three mods which are all from Works rally. It has the Works P2R reflash, Works 269 Cams, and the Works valve spring & Ti-Retainers, everything else on the car are stock. Now, I'm new to cars since this is my first car, so I'm really paranoid since some of my friends who knows cars alot better than I do suggested me that the condition of the car is kind of weird, because there are only 3 mods on it which are all internal moddings, the ECU would probably be a problem since it might have been set to work with other mods like exhaust, intake etc... So, they all suggested me to change them all back to stocks. But I don't really want to change them because I'm sure the labor to do so will definitely cost alot, and plus I'm on a low budget (you know, college students ). I'm just wondering, do I really have to change them all back to stocks? and if i dont, will it hurt my engine alot or will it be very difficult and expensive to maintain the car? PLEASE HELP!!

once again, there are only 3 mods that came with the car, everything else are stock:
Works P2R Reflash
Works 269 Cams
Works valve springs and Ti-Retainers

Thanks alot guys!

You should be fine. Contact works and tell them who you bought the car from. You'll want the reflash with the cams. Just drop some cash and get a Turbo back exhaust and you'll be 100%. Works has probably the highest reliability with it's products. So no worries there.

Call WORKS. You probably want to slap on a filter and exhaust for full effect, but you'll be safe without them. Definitely have the cars' history researched as well.

WORKS keeps all of our Brain Flash information on file in our database and this is one of the reasons why Feel free to contact us and we'll get some information from you to determine what software is in the ECU and what (if any) changes may be needed.
