Question about the TR-340/p2r flash I have

Hello Works,

I just bought a used '05 VIII (MarkEddy's old car), and I'm having a small issue with it that you may or may not be able to help with.

It has your TR-340 package (with the Stealthworks muffler instead of the Exhale), stock diverter valve (although I ordered yours and it's on its way here), 92 octane flash.

This is most noticeable at highway speeds. As I'm transitioning from maintaining vehicle speed to coasting (say going from 20% throttle to 10% and finally 0%, fairly slowly), the car has a pronounced stumble. It does this every time. It does it at slower speeds also. The car runs fine otherwise. It doesn't seem to matter how warm or cold the coolant temp is. Car has a CK2 clutch and aluminum flywheel, if it matters.

Could it be the stock diverter valve? Would the flash have been programmed for the Works valve?

Thanks for any info.

Kris, couple of things just to refresh Oliver's memory -

The last paperwork that I filled out (flash sheet) that I gave WORKS I had the P2r setup for 93 octane and also listed that I was using the WORKS diverter valve.

You can use 92 but be careful where you are buying it. Don't put that Holiday or Super America gas in it, go BP or SHELL.

Also, check the WORKS air filter...may be time for a new one.

The problem could exist with the Diverter valve if WORKS built that into the flash because I did remove that before I sold the car, but I am not 100% certain.

It could be related to the valve, but not necessarily tied to the software. If it's the original plastic valve, these have been notorious for wearing out over time. Since you've got the WORKS valve on order, let us know if the stumble persists as it will take one piece out of the equation of possibilities.

Also, make sure the valve is installed in the proper orientation. The valve should be moving parallel with the ground. We've seen a few intalls that have them perpindicular and have resulted in some driveability (and potential safety) issues.
