Question about Works TR-340 on 2005 Evo MR
Hi everyone,
I've had my 2005 Evo MR for almost 4 years now, and I'm very interested in purchasing and having installed the WORKS TR-340 package. I'm just wondering how the fuel efficiency of the car is changed with the increased power and what to expect in terms of gas mileage. Also, how much wHP would I expect to see out of this package in theory (I know that every car responds differently to mods). My last question is regarding the installation turnaround time, basically, if I left the car at WORKS for installation, how long would I expect to be without my car. Sorry about all the questions. I hope you can get back to me.

Hey, I got the TR-340 on my 2006 MR and am very, very happy overall with the changes. Mileage actually increased like 2-3 MPG if cruising, a bit worse with "spirited driving," but stayed about the same overall - I commute in mine daily and the AM traffic patterns don't allow WOT very often
.
I combined it with a flywheel, clutch kit, valve springs/retainers, springs, rear sway bar, Croxx plate, front and rear braces. A bit pricey, but the car is absolutely amazing now. Really - the clutch feels nice, strong, but not grabby; handling and cornering pleasure up 100%, and the engine response is great. They worked on my car for 2-3 days maybe. Customer service has been great - always friendly, competent service. Would only be happier if I lived closer and had a higher budget.

You will get same fuel mileage as stock or better, midrange torque will be more instant on or off boost since you will have cams and bigger throttle body. Do the air filter, high flow cat w DP and the car should trap 110 or a little better. E46 M3s and older cobras will be easy.
If you go w/ 272's, no cat, an O2 housing+ 93 map & LICP it should be around 113-115 traps or 400hp. remember the TR '340' number is for an '03 w. 9.5 hotside and a stock cat converter tuned for 91 ca gas. You have the 10.5 HS so add in an HFC or no cat and you have 360-370hp on a 93 map.
I just got into it today w a '08 GT500 and he walked me of course but only by a few cars. I'm a TR340 + HFC and 93 map. I weigh 3,130 lbs also.
