It Fits + It Works = Happy
It Fits + It Works = Happy
I finally got around to installing an exhaust on the EVO and I couldn't be happier with the end result.
Like many, I pissed around reading a bunch of end-all threads about which exhaust system is the best and whose makes 1HP more than the other guys. I read up on all the downpipes and mufflers and all the stuff in between.
For me, I didn't want the attention that a loud exhaust brings. I wanted something that had a quiet idle yet was ballsy enough when the throttle was mashed.
It had to fit without funky bushings, not rub against anything and mount to the factory connections.
I didn't want an muffler that stuck out past the rear bumper or sit sideways. I wanted something with good ground clearance, not a some super-dragger that scraps the ground when I go over speed bumps. I wanted something that looked stock and yes I planned on running a catalytic converter
After putting it off for another year I finally decided on the WORKS Exhale exhaust system.
The order arrived well packed with detailed instructions. All the welds were nicely done and most importantly the whole thing fit perfectly! Being that I don't have a lift, I had friend at a local muffler shop install the thing and he was equally impressed and said that it was one of the nicest exhausts he's installed.
The down pipe cleared the ACD transfer case and the lower tie bars and included all the stuff to make the install a piece of cake.
The cat-back portion of the pipe has a resonator to reduce that exhaust drone which makes long trips annoying and again the fitment was perfect.
At first I stuck with the stock muffler because I had to take a 1800 mile road trip and didn't want to deal with a loud exhaust but after installing the WORKS ABM over the weekend I was pleasantly surprised to find that this muffler wasn't too loud.... and it actually sounds good too! The fit of the WORKS ABM muffler is perfect, it sits flush with the rear bumper and does not stick out too far like some of the mufflers that I've seen and it sits right on center with the bumper, not rubbing or sitting off to one side. Looks OEM enough to not attract unnecessary attention too.
I'm very happy with this exhaust and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a big exhaust that fits perfectly, looks close to OEM and isn't too loud.
Nice job WORKS

Works does a great job on enlarging your stock cat as well--helps free up the restriction , no noticable droaning and keeps you within emissions---should that become an issue at a later date.
