Yup. And he didn't bother editing the original post - just sent me a warning. Negative reinforcement is something I have never enjoyed, hence the current state of my sig.

He does run a business and he needs our cash to fund his lifestyle, so I understand his perspective. I just feel he could have handled it better by simply editing the post with a witty retort, rather than using his moderator "powers". Atypical n00b mod knee-jerk reaction.

Moreover, there is no specific rule that says I cannot do what I did. If you read forum rules, no where does it say that you cannot do this (posting prices from a different vendor on a vendor specific forum). So, really it was an emotional reaction on his part that has no merit when you look at the rules. But, here we are..

Which reminds me - I need to edit my sig to reflect the weekend prices of the Walbro fuel pump at Lancershop.com. 101$ as opposed to the "bend you over and insert" MSRP price from Vishnu.

That's 49$ (plus tax & shipping) that you could put towards going out to eat, buying a tank of 100 octane gas or purchasing a stainless steel clutchline that just happens to be on sale this weekend at Lancershop.com.

Thanks for the sound clip Lansolo,, it was kinda sratchy,,,, so does it dron alot cruising compaired to the stock muffler? Its is kinda hard to get a good idea of if it is too loud or not without hearing it, but if it has a good sound it would be worth listening too. So how do you get around a ticket if a cop says,"you dont have a muffler on your car"? Do the resionators help in this case ?......... I think I would be happy with the exhale as long as it isnt a fart box, trash can, riced out sound.....

Im also looking at getting a down pipe from works whe they finally come out,,,, will this add to the note of the exhale tip,, being too loud?

Thanks alot.

The exhale is a beautiful looking peice of machienery, and I personally like the tip with engraving. However, I recently learned how to weild using a MIG weilder. It is not rocket science, and neither is bending a pipe. I really think that this peice should be marketed at about 100$ ath the very most. I really think that WORKS should work with dealers and try to see their parts through the dealerships if they want to charge this kind of markup. You have to look at what you are getting, a nice looking pipe...that's it. Yeah, it creates performance increases, but that is because of it's simplicity, not becasue it is a high tech computer, or a skillfully crafted set of headers. Not trying to hate on anyone here, but the exhale seems like a cash cow for works, and I am not a big fan.

You might be shocked to learn that the Exhale AB is one or our lowest profit margin pieces. Look at the flange that mounts the Exhale to the stock intermediate pipe. Nice and thick, right, with a fantastic fit? Where do you suppose we order those? We don't. We CAD design and make them. How about that bent pipe that exits in one smooth arc to sit squarely in the center of the exhaust opening on the bumper? How much can a mandrel bent 3" pipe cost off the shelf? Again, that pipe doesn't exist anywhere. We make them. Certainly, it would be great if we could just buy something like this, but since we can't, we had to CAD spec it and pay for the tooling to create it. Then there is the tip. Double walled, laser-engraved, high polished with drain hole. A $3 part with plenty of room left for profit? Hardly.

Of course, all of this justification on our part re: Exhale AB will be a moot point once we introduce the Exhale IP and DP -- thereby leading the way for WORKS to offer the first modular exhaust system for the Evo allowing for full mix and match flexibility with stock exhaust components going all the way back to the turbo.

Thanks.

i bought it from Jeff/N10S. what a great seller. the packaging is excellent, thanks JEFF!!!!

anyways, i installed it this morning.
my reaction is WOW !!!
the exhale is significantly lighter than the stock, i couldn't believe how heavy the stock muffler is compared to the exhale.

the sound is noticably louder than stock.
the throaty deep sound is really great.
i can't wait for the DP & IP to come out.

GOOD JOB WORKS !!!
Glad you like the pipe, and thanks for the kind words. I was at a mitsu dealership with my daughter this past weekend helping her aquire another eclipse(her third). Couldn't help keep from hopping into the tarmac black Evo on the showroom floor. Thats a dangerous place for me to visit!!

Got my new EXHALE yesterday,,, VERY nice looking Pipe!!!

Install is simple, I didn it in the low light of my garage last night, without lifting the car.

Just dont try to take off the back bolts on the stock muffler, I pushed , pulled, car rocked,, then I got my flash light out! OOOPPPSSSS, those babies are welded on,,,, LOLOLOl,,, work from the front.

Anyways I fired up the car with no axel back,,, not bad at all,, then put the Exhale on,,, nice low throaty growl,,,

Then I went out for a test drive,,,,, and now it really wants to pull/ rev a lot better than stock. The stock muffler MUST come off anyones EVO ASAP!!!!!! It is a big P.O.S, you dont need it.

All in all very nice Pipe,,, kinda spendy but what the hell , are you going to keep all your $$$$$$$$.

The only thing is I could not get off is the rubber hanger off the car? I hope this wont get hung up on anything down there.

Looking forward to the DP from Works, So if anyone has one yet let me know how it WORKS!!!!!!

The black grime is still normal even with a flash, from whomever you choose.

Some soot is normal. However, excessive soot is an indication of incomplete combustion from an overly rich air/fuel mixture. Actually, an overly rich air fuel mixture is not ideal -- this is true from both a performance standpoint and from a reliability standpoint. While you want the AFR to be rich enough to be safe, if you go too rich, your EGTs (exhaust gas temps) will begin to climb to unsafew levels and carbon, a by product of incomplete cumbustion, will begin to build up in the cylinder head leading to hot spots/pre-ignition detonation in the lmedium and long term. Lastly, an overly rich air/fuel mixture will begin fouling spark plugs resulting in a less than optimal spark and decreased ignition performance.

This is why WORKS carefully tunes the A/F, ignition and boost maps for a balanced, clean and safe combustion.
