using mbc w/p2
using mbc w/p2
Is it safe to use a Manual Boost Controller with the P2 flash? Currently, it seems to be the only way I can hold boost. I was the customer getting all the fluctuations and the occasional boost cut. I put a mbc on and it seems to be fine, though boost does taper slightly as it also did using the mbc on a stock evo. I just couldn't deal with the 23psi spikes and only getting a constant 17psi. The only thing is it doesn't feel as smooth as when the p2 was working properly.....maybe timing is being pulled?
Also, if I decide to go with a safc later on with other mods, will the flash be harmful because of the timing adjustments? I'm just really not happy any more with the way my car is performing. Everything was great for the first 2 weeks after I got the flash.

isnt that the main things that you get the brainflash ? Its like a mbc that raises your boost and it holds at19psi till red line.
I was told that you really dont need a boost control , now if you are having problems you should give them a call..

I have called and they are at a loss. Told me to reset the cpu. I had already tried that. They also said they would have an engineer call back, but I never got the call. They were at SEMA then, so I understand. I know the p2 controls boost, but It isn't anymore. The fuel and timing maps are configured for 19psi also, which is why I am asking if using the mbc to hold the 19psi is ok since the factory solenoid or cpu isn't doing its job. I can't imaginr why the cpu would all of a sudden change, and since the mbc is working, I am guessing that maybe the factory control soenoid isn't functioning properly. Not sure how to troubleshoot this issue any further. And the Nature of the problem doesn't allow me to go to the dealer. I can do the work myself, but don't know what to look for.
