E46 M3 vs P1 VS P2

Was a little bored so i took my P1 vs P2 dyno sheet and overlayed a stock E46 M3 dyno sheet. P2 equipped EVO makes quite a bit more usable power than the E46 M3 until about 6000rpm.

I raced an E46 M3 and got beaten at the top end, but was beating him before that. Thanks for posting this up.

Now, how would I fare against an E36 M3 with a supercharger?? I heard someone at Works owns one of those.

I used to have an E36 M3 and I will say that if its supercharged, there is no way in hell we would stand a chance. They put down 303 ft/lbs and 343 rwhp. Have a look at this: http://www.eurosporthighperformance....fs/E36vE46.pdf

Yeah I was just curious myself and coming from the BIMMER world to the EVO world I thought it would be interesting to see a comparison.

I took a ride in one. it revs like my x S2000, like honda with really sweet engine sound. CAymandiver my EVO put more wtq and almost the same whp stock on 91 gas vs yours??? did you dyno you EVO before you got the p1 and p2??? if so what were the results ??? That weird??

Actually you really can't compare a dyno by peak numbers. If you were to overlay your numbers on my chart you will see the real difference. Most likely you may have been on a different dyno and/or you have higher peak, but usable power throughout the band is less than mine. If you send me your dyno and if its a dynojet one, I'll be happy to overlay yours with mine to visualize the difference.

I wonder how my EVO fares against an e46 M3...
I have p2 plus RMR full turboback, HKS RS intake, and the car is always running w/ 94 or higher octane.

BTW, My car made 255awhp before I got the P2 and HKS intake.

peak hp on dynos doesn't mean much. Its the usable power and curve that is important. If you dynoed on a dynojet, feel free to send me your stock chart of 255 peak hp and I will overlay it with the E46M3 and my P2.

I completely agree. I personally feel peak HP is for bragging rights and flexing *****.

e46 vs. evo or modded wrx

I had a Cobb Stage II WRX sedan with no cats (that I traded for Evo). Never had it dynoed with Cobb mods but I suspect it was 290+ crank hp. It had solid and smooth midrange pull.

Then I drove my friend's E46 M3 quite a bit and despite the extra 300 lbs, the M3 felt a little faster, especially as it revved - wow! That car definitely has one of the best engines sold in a road car today. I just wish they'd put it in vehicle that weighed <3000 lbs.
