Aperture + Exhale AB

Added the throttle body and the axle back exhaust today. Already had P2 flash.

Wow! What a difference. I'm not sure what the addition of the aperture did vs the exhaust, but the combination of the two seems to work out well. Power comes on/turbo spools a few hundred rpm's earlier. Seems to have more power throughout the powerband. Holds peak boost through redline (as it should with P2 flash), but peak boost is 1-2 psi higher (according to my crappy Mitsu gauge)

Lots of fun! This should hold me over for a while.

I love the sound of the Exhale AB, but I can see where it would be too loud for some.

Thanks Works!

Congrats. I was hoping to get the axle back soon too, but they are still out of stock on most of their parts. They keep saying 2-3 weeks, but it has been months now. I have the P2 as well and have been trying to decide on what exhaust to get. The axle back seems like a good choice, but if I want to get the IP later its very expensive. Might as well just get a 3" exhaust from someplace else since exhaust is exhaust. I can't justify the hundreds more for the Works catback compared to others. I think my next purchase will be their aperture.

I installed the TB and P2 at the same time. I have no idea whats P2 and what's TB but together they made for some nice gains.

We’ve been running the P2, Aperture, Exhale AB set-up for some time now and find it to be a nice combination in-lieu of the corporate tune. All the humpty bump at low speed is gone, drivability is much, much better than stock and fuel mileage is up.

After our first Autox event the set-up proved to be more than enough power for the application. Throttle response was right when and were I needed it plus I was able to control the rear of the car with the power anytime I needed to.

Our original idea was to leave the engine-turbo combo stock and we’ve since decided to stay with that idea. If someone is looking for just a few mods to really wake up their Evo, this is a good reliable combination.

As far as the AB and IP are concerned I think you realize a better gain with the AB in both performance and weight savings versus the IP. I really don’t think I’d even feel a difference with the addition of the IP to what we already have.

Yeah. Even Works said that the stock IP was pretty good. I might hold off for now and stick with the AB. You may want to start with the AB and the aperture. I went from P2 to that and wow - big jump!

Anyone have perspective on the P2/AB with or without the throttle body?

dyuyeno,
Yes, but what additional impact does the throttle body add over and above the P2/Exhale combo?

I just installed the Aperture yesterday to go along with my 3" turbo back and HF cat. I got my P2 ECU reflashed for the mods and I can tell that there is a power gain with the new aperture. Just feels smoother and the boost kicks in a bit harder. I would say that I gained between 5-10hp with it, but I'll verify at the next MACH V dyno meet.

I just put on my my IP yesterday. Have to say I love it to, now have the complete turbo back WORKS exhaust with Test Pipe, TB and P2. Can't wait to gat my flash updated next week for the new parts.

I love the sound when the turbo spools, but I have to agree it could be a bit loud for some.

ttiscio - you got pm. If you're sending your ecu in anyway, think about the aperture - good bang for the buck !
