I used to have flags on my speedo for my shirft point.. it was easier to see than trying to do the tach thing..I can't do this now since the stock evo instruments have such poor resolution they are difficult to pick up at a glance..the speedo is almost useless. I wish someone would bring out a decent replacement for the entire panel.
Dyno runs are done in 3rd or 4th (mostly) for many reasons. One of them is so the car doesn't "jump" off the dyno. Also the numbers can be measured more accurately, and there are much more data logging capabilities.

This is infinitely complicated as you can see! I recommend taking a look at the dyno graph and just shift were it "feels" right. You’ll get it.

Two things:

1) I've been told that, because the P2 changes boost characteristics, it bumps the Evo to Street Modified (I know, my hijacked portion of the thread, but I couldn't leave it unresolved!)

2) I always understood that 3rd and 4th gear were used because they were the closest to a 1:1 ratio with the engine...?

That being said, who's gonna go sit at a dyno and let us know the results?????

1) Yes it would put you in Street Modified. maybe. well maybe not. hard to say. I think it really depends on the people running the event.

2) That's another reason that 3rd and 4th are used. Like i said, there are many reasons
