Snorkel reduces boost?
Snorkel reduces boost?
OK, quick question for you guys. On some cars i seems you have fixed a boost loss problem simply by removing the snorkel yet on other cars there is not any issue. What do you attribute this too. Could it be the fact that the tabs on the snorkel were not secure and under speed it suction cupped itself to the hood in effect sucking nothing?
I am curious because I too am having a problem boosting as well and would like to fix it.

depends from car to car from what tyler was telling me....i can definitely feel a difference with and without the snorkel, (since with it i was at 10 psi at 6k) but i can also notice a difference going with and without the top of the airbox

I rigged up the DYI ram air intake with a piece of metal from home depot, and i also found some much stronger tabs at the auto part store (i think they were designed for fords).. end result is that thing does not move (hard as hell to take the snorkely off though)... and hopefully its pushing more air in there, when i get around to adding the radiator shroud, i know it will be simply because there is no where else for that air to possibly go except into the intake.
