So this new cluster is fairly decent look and feels like a major update from the old one. Note the km-s are 100k out of spec.

Now this is the old chip put in to the new cluster.

This little 8 pin chip is the place where the ODO is recorded on. Did this with a makita battery powered heat gun and soldering iron. The tip has to be fairly small after resolering I added a bit solder on each pin with the soldering iron. I got it into place with the heat gun and tweezers.
