DIY Log manifold

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate the enthusiasm. Exhaust is the next step...also, i'll be fitting the intercooler piping soon as well, and marking everything for BOV, recirc pipe etc. this will probably take me until spring, as now over the winter, the extra money i've been spending on the car will be going towards my heating bill over the winter...

i wish i had the resources to take on a project like this. i would love to go boost. that being said, when you get yours done garrett, you'll have to take my for a rip to see what i'm missing out on. lol
also, i could be wrong but i believe that there is a little modification needed to get the TD to fit properly on the RA's...

yeah the evo ones should fit for the most part some just might not be so vertical with the motor ... \ like that instead of |, I still have my zaklee TD , I just need to either replace the rubber guts with fresh flexane/window weld or get a piston type.

Nice looking manifold cranswick. Don't you dare put a POS 14B on that engine. It's a horrible choice for a turbo on a 2.4l. It was small on a 4G63 2l making 220bhp. Even the EVO came with a 2.0l and a 16G. Take that or maybe even an 18G.

I beg to differ on a 14b turbo... How is this for a 14b/pump gas on a 3000lbs minivan:

I started setting 14b records in early '00 because people were too quck to write-off this very capable turbo and frankly, I wanted to make them look bad. I thought that in '11 we would be pass this point, but I guess not...
FYI, 14b is capable of 320-330 whp, if you know what you are doing.

Mike, this is purely experimental, for the purpose of proving this can be done on a rock bottom budget...hate it or not, i'm going for it, i know the 14b is a small turbo for a 2.4L, but the 14b is exactly the same size as a 16g on the outside, so later it'll be an easy swap for a 16g...I plan on eventually getting 550cc injectors, and a genuine Evo 3 16g, and proper turbo back exhaust...and probably going external wastegate, so i can clock the compressor housing to a more convenient orientation...
Thanks for the kudos on the manifold though
tuning please!
