CLUTCH problem... need help! shes collecting dust in my garage
So since november my 04 ralliart is hibernating in the garage. It was a good thing so i wont be driving it in snow, but the bad thing is, its sitting in the garage because it cant drive.
What happened: One day when I was driving, whenever I step on the clutch pedal, the clutch pedal goes half-way soft and its hard to change gears. After a week, clutch pedal just go all the way to the floor like a brake without brake fluid.
Anybody got a clue with whats the problem?
need help asap because I can smell spring!

That happened to me last November I replaced both slave cylinder and the master cylinder which solved the issue then...but now my clutch went out lol damn track days.

yes, the clutch hydraulic system is completely independent of the brakes (we're talking clutch master cylinder, not brake master cylinder), even though they share a reservoir...check both the master and the slave...if it's the master, replace with Evo master cylinder...it's better (less prone to leaking) and it's easier to install. I've been using a generic slave from local parts store on a stage 2 HD pressure plate, with no issues...

they share a reservoir...but they are independent hydraulic systems, if you blow a brake line, you'll have no brakes but the clutch will still work...or more commonly, vice versa, it would be pretty dangerous if you lost all braking ability, cause your clutch slave cylinder is leaking...the master cylinder is what is connected to the pedal in each system, that's what creates pressure, one system losing pressure will not affect the other...I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot, but I can't really think of a way to explain it other than that.
