Any more upgrade options for running a RA Stock Turbo?
Hi, guys.
I have a 2012 lancer ralliart. I have AMS UICP, Mishimoto FMIC and UR LICP a UR catback exhaust, and also an AMS boost pill waiting to be installed (because it says need immediate tune after installing AMS boost pill ). I am planning to get her tuned this summer.
The question is any more upgrade options to her ? I am not planning to get an Evo x turbo , brembos or fancy wheels .
What I have been thinking is get an AMS cold air intake and get my battery relocated to the trunk (because I heard the small battery isnt that reliable)...
Any more options or suggestions ?

Inexpensive mods would be:
-intake (I have the UR one so no moving battery but I like the AEM one)
-high flow cat (Milspec, AMS, & Boostin Performance have good ones)
-downpipe (would only suggest doing this if you're changing your turbo)
-Grimmspeed BCS (I suggest installing this instead of the boost pill)
You'll def need to tune when installing an intake or boost control solenoid
Expensive mods would be:
-CBRD Rad Lite (or Evo X turbo upgrade)
-injectors, fuel pump, & E85 upgrade

You can get the GM 3port BCS for $30 w/ pig tails and add $5 for a plug to allow you to essentially create a plug and play harness out of the pig tails. That's $35 bucks for the same if not better performance, reliability, and ease of tuning.

Grimmspeed BCS "expensive", since it's over $100.

Want e-85 u need injectors and a pump. You got for turbo upgrade to rad. Then u need an extra tune for e-85 also. Also check what people are selling and do ur research. There is parts u can save on.
I do admit that I prefer to run e-85, not only because of the power but the car itself seems to like it a lot more than gas.

Could go with some mild cams. Of course with the baby turbo you won't see much from cams. Really after intake, boost controller, tune, downpipe, and test pipe or HFC you're about done.
The most you're ever going to see from the stock turbo is safely about 270's at the wheels on pump fuel. If you go the e85 route you might see in the low 300's but that wee baby stock turbo is the biggest restriction for this engine. Unless you reconsider going with an X frame turbo you won't see much more.
I could be off on the power numbers, but like I said the stock turbo is puny.

crap memory failed me. It's $38-ish on eBay: "GM Boost control Solenoid with Pigtail wire" ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-Boost-control-Solenoid-with-Pigtail-wire-oem-BCS-/120722114540?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1b9947ec&vxp=mtr )
Then the connector is on spoolinup.com under "DIY EVO Parts, Sensors, Connectors" ... looks like memory screwed me on the price of this too... it's $7

Thanks for the reply. I was planning to get the AMS CAI and small battery kit . The only problem that bothers me is that I live in Winnipeg, Canada. We have 7months of winter and 3 months of summer and 1month spring and 1 month autumn... The winter here is extremely cold (sometimes its -30C and we dont go to class..) I am afraid the performance battery kit wont suffer from the weather or wont survive long..
I will get the short DP : )

Yeah, Grimmspeed BCS seems like a good upgrade. I downloaded the installing instruction and it syas " All Grimmspeed products are intended for Off-Road use only " Thats why i went for Boost pill. Dont know why they wrote that....

Youre right it is $100 but if you consider $100 expensive, buddy you own the wrong car. Thats the cheapest thing on my inexpensive list!! Inexpensive would be considered under $500 as any turbo or E85 upgrade would be way more. I just dunno if Id consider an ebay BCS that Ive never heard of better than Grimmspeed but your car do what you want.
