2011 cruise control
Hello mates,
Recently one of my friends reported to me that he couldn't activate cruise control feature by turning the bit 14 on of the ECU Option Set #3. He had installed optional parts for cruise control. His ROM ID is 56880009 ( SST, JDM, 2011 ) .
To activate cruise control feature, Isn't it enough for 2011s?

Hi,
oh, is it really !?
On the contrary, for 56180002(2010 JDM 5MT), I've been using cruise control feature with setting the flag to 1 since 1 year ago. Therefore I set the flag of his rom(56880009, 2011 JDM SST) same to mine ( = 1 ) .
Is this flag has reversed meaning of 0 and 1 by model year and market?

I think so, too.
I checked the stock roms :
2008-2009 : default value is set to 1.
2010-2012 : default value is set to 0. ( to activate cruise control, we need to change the bit to 1. )
I don't know why my friend's car(2011 jdm) doesn't activate cruise control feature even the flag is set to 1...

Hi,
Thank you for the nice info.
>That bit only seems to work for some early roms. The new models 2010+ are different.
OMG...
My friend's rom is stock 56880009.
Initially, his car had not cruise control feature. so he bought the parts for that feature and installed into his car by himself. He hasn't changed his rom except for the cruise control bit.
It suggests you are right. I expected two possibilities :

- 2010+ has another flag.
- for 2010+, there are two type of ecu of with/without cruise control feature in its code.

I can't answer that. You'll probably need to find another car the same year / model that has the cruise control option and see what rom he has. Make sure they have the same transmission.
If there is a rom difference, you could try flashing the "wrong" rom to the car. That is not recommended for novices, but I know Crimson Red knows how to do it.

Unfortunately, we can't find most of JDM ROMs for 2011 or later(especially for 5mt). I have only 56880009 ( 2011 sst, my friend's rom ).

oh, that's a good way! I have only 56880009, but I can try that rom with my car. I'll try it next weekend. Thanks!

Hello,
I want to make a new, more durable cable to b**ch my ecu. It takes some more days.
I can check if my friend's rom(56880009) support cruise control feature or not. but if it's not support the feature, I can't solve it.

Hi, Golden
Sorry for long delay. Today, I flashed 56880009 on my ecu and tried to check if cruise control feature works for my friend babanna.
I modified just these : turn the ecu option set #4 bit 1 off ( 1: sst, 0: 5mt), injector scaling for my injector.
As a result, the cruise control feature works fine with 56880009 on my car. It means this rom has the codes for cruise control feature.
Thank you for nice advice, Golden!
