EVO-X in Connecticut

I wasn't sure if this was the right section to put it so im posting this here as well.
So im at my boy's house yesterday laying waste to some aliens in Halo3 when my cell rings. Its the Manager at the dealership i hang out at. He says to me the instructor with the EVO-X GSR just arrived 5 minutes ago with the car so come down and get a hold of him so i can get a closer look and some one on one time with the car. At this point, im all excited.

So i get there about 10 minutes later and i dont see no stinkin' EVO! but just as im about to kick the service guys door in, he sees me and waves me to the back. as the bay door opens, i almost nut, right there on the spot!

A candy red Evo-X. It is the only one on the East coast and just arrived from japan to the shipping dock in NJ on friday. I was graced to be the 4th person to ever sit in, and fondle an EVO-X on the east coast. Views and thoughts of the car are completely different when its right in front of you and not on youtube.

I tried to get pictures but they said wait till the last day. Apparently in order to teach the technicians how to work on the new EVO's they are sending the instructor to major dealerships on the east coast only for this course.
Now for the things i noticed or found out:

EVO-X GSR goes on sale next week in america / EVO-X MR (SST) has been moved to April
1. 295hp vs. 289 thats rumored(ill check again and verify with the window sticker again in a few days)
2. rear bumper diffuser is SICK!!!!!
3. 2 piece rotors
4. optional navigation
5. optional moonroof, or aluminum roof/hood/fender combo
6. 23psi of boost from the factory(tried to see what number was the turbo but they stopped me from climbing in the engine bay)
7. interior is all cloth material. no two tone.
8. rear mounted turbo(same location as the STI)
9. optional panels in the fenders and beneath the car as body diffusers for channeling air.
10. functional rear venting fenders
11. the most comfortable recaro's ever!
12. steering wheel seems smaller than on my evo but with lots of buttons
13. cruise control
14. Active center Differential, Super ALL wheel Handling, Active Yaw Control, Antil Lock Brakes, and some 15. other stuff i couldnt remember
16. alot more front and rear passenger space
17. more sophisticated interior
18. spoked wheels standard, BBS mesh wheels optional
19. wider stance with 18x8 wheels factory
20. Rear wing still obstructs the rear horizon (but its still sexy)
21. 650watt Rockford Fosgate sound system (no joke)
22. Battery is in the trunk
23. Windshield washer bottle is still in the trunk
24. exhaust is dual but not two pipes. single exhaust pipe and two outlets at each side of the muffler
25. center rear hood vent directs air straight to the turbo to keep it cool
26. forward two front vents relieve engine bay heat with a blockage plate to redirect water from getting in.
27. HID's available on all as an option
28. no plans for an RS model. just a GSR different availabe options or MR with other options.

If anyone has any questions or anything they want to know about the EVO-X, let me know asap and i can get the info. The car is only hidden here for two more days. pics are added a few posts down. lata

Half of this information is wrong, and the info that isn't has already been given. The evo x has been on sale in the US since about two weeks ago.

well take it up with the mitsubishi rep who's training the mechanics over here. im just putting out what i saw yesterday, what he showed me in the manuals, and what the rep told me.

scottatayamaha- fyi ive been on evom for over two years. this is a new account. being in the military and deployed for a while can cause people to forget passwords and user names. so if your intent on that post was to knock me down or something, then try again. if you were just pointing that out to others on the board, then i apologize and God bless you anyway.

mrdevo- thanks for that note because thats exactly what the rep told me. gsr's will arrive and go on sale next week.

spooch- if your brembo's are white from the clear peeling its coveredunder warraty. i got my 2003 evo8 in sep of 2006 lightly modified with 17k on the clock. the first thing i did was call mitsu headquarters to ask what to do. they had a rep fly out to see it(like 2 weeks later), and then the said its covered. i saw the receipt and having them install brand spanking new brembo's on all four wheels along with fixing the off track moon roof and the sticking heater knob came up to $6000+. if i were you, stay on em'. just my 2 cents.

k2boarder3187- this was at Girard Mitsubishi in Groton, CT. 5 minutes from the submarine base im stationed at.

thanks to everyone else for reading and replying. i will try and photo copy the sticker from the window tomorrow.

your hp numbers are wrong as well, they've already been released, officially by mitsu, at 295 hp and 300lb-ft.

Reading is Fundamental...so do it. If the only evo in this region is driven here by a 55 year old guy just to train technicians, why the hell would it be in the showroom? didnt you see the first post where i was pissed that the manager made me drive there and i couldnt find it in the show room or on the lot? get a clue. i also posted that i hang out there all the time. so obviously im cool with them to get the inside look behind the scenes. i clearly posted that he took me around back to one of the rear bays and it was in there. if you're so damn sure its bs, send me a pm and meet me in groton anyday before thursday so i can prove it to you since you know so much. because i guarantee you if you call there or even go in there asking they will all tell you they dont have one, because technically they dont. its not there to be advertised.
and that goes for any evo owners close by the vicinity of groton. pm me if you wanna get in to see it. but i dont think i can get in there everyday like a show and tell, so if we can coordinate something for one day, it should work.
